Like a dormant volcano
Knowing any second
It could erupt causing a mess
Reeking chaos and distress
Like a burning fire smoldering

There’s just that calming feeling after waking up
Stepping outside to the cool yet warm breeze
Seeing the sun rising at the horizon
Hearing the birds chirping and traffic moving
Smelling the coffee brewing
Knowing your alive and well...
The calming feeling of waking up and making new discoveries and memories

I would like your company
Would you come and sit next to me?

What if today is your last day
Would you be ok
With the last thing you said
Is anything else you wanted to say
Right here at the starting line
Coming close to the finish line
Are you happy with all you’ve done
Can you say it’s been good, it’s been fun
In a blink of an eye, all can change, are you ready or do you want to stay?
If only we had that choice for when our time is up
It’s not that easy, but don’t give up
The next time we complain, get angered or upset
Remember someone out there is dealing with something worse
Losing their life, losing a parent or a child
Someone struggling with addiction, no food or shelter
Battling cancer or another disease, legs amputated at the knees
Fighting for their life, saving our lives
Behavioral or mental disabilities
Battling demons inside
Not saying “I love you” will be a regret
Don’t take your life and love for granted, you will never forget
Let yesterday be in the past
Embark a new a journey that will last
Take care of yourself and love what you have
You may never know when it’ll be your last...

We all don’t always see eye to eye
But you never know when there’s no chance to say goodbye

To be as innocent as a child
Seeing through their eyes and not seeing the world as “wild”
Being happy as ever, giggling away
No worries in sight
Just having fun and play
To be as innocent as a child....

To take a peek
For now I’ll just wait and see

Wishing Heaven had visiting hours but then realized it does...
When you go to sleep you visit Heaven and reunited with your loved ones...
You may not always remember it but it happens...

Dried up like the tears I can not cry
I’m trying to find out why and where my inspiration and thoughts have gone and  said goodbye

I feel sorry for you

But getting the help you need

In a world where chaos is the norm
Unexpected turn of events can happen before the big storm
Always looking over your shoulder or walking on eggshells
Has become precaution and a way of life all mixed into one
It’s sad to say but this is our life
Walking in fear and having to think twice

Time is measured in seconds, minutes and hours
My love for you is measured in years, hugs and kisses

Wow.

I’m baffled.

What just happened?

The next a huge fight erupts...

I feel like a magic trick that has gone wrong
Trying to disappear but the magic is gone
Revealing my trick for all to see
Something goes wrong but then suddenly
It’s not about the magic

It’s about the reveal and who believes

But making one person believe  
Is worth a million likes even if your still able to be seen...

A message in a bottle
Washed up upon the shore
Wonder where it came from

Once this is done, return to the water

Sending smiles and love to all
When you least expect it this note will send smiles and prayers
When you are at the brink of a fall
So I send to you this message to read
To brighten up your day
Planting a small seed
Of joy and love
Across the world for everyone to see

Driving down the road
It’s not uncommon to see homeless people asking for money or keeping to themselves
Today, I saw something heartbreaking, especially on Easter Sunday
I looked over by the creek and saw a shopping cart, a bag and blankets
Didn’t think anything of it until I was driving back the same way
Upon driving closer, I realized there was a person sleeping within the blankets

For a moment, I stopped to think of everyone around the world getting candy, goodies, and having a great meal with family
Yet this person has no one, has nothing...
It puts into perspective on how everyone deals with life differently and how many of us take for granted on the life they have
But this person didn’t care to sleep out in the open without a care in the world
Sad to think of those less fortunate and I pray for them tonight

Family time
Is just divine
Making memories
Having an amazing time

Easter
It’s not about the candy
It’s not about the bunny
It’s not about the plastic eggs
Filled up with (alcohol) or money
It’s about the one who gave up his life
To give each one of us life
Remember that first, everything else is secondary

I had a heart to heart with someone tonight and was trying to help them through a difficult time. I sit here and think of my past and the things I have personally dealt with in life. The mistakes, the regrets, the things I wish I would have done, the thing I have done and much more. I often ponder my choices and the path of where life has led me. I have always said "everything happens for a reason" and I stick with that to this day. The "what ifs" are just a formality of the choices you have made. I had to go through the bad times of relationships to get where I am today, married to my best friend and couldn't be happier.
I had to deal with my dad becoming sick and not being able to take care of himself. I watched him wither away to nothing, and saw him dying. I wouldn't change anything I did during that time of his life because I did and said all I could to him. I still haven't dealt with him passing but I know he is always here with me.
I had to deal with my families home catching on fire and our childhood home being destroyed. Even though things were damaged and destroyed, no one was home, so we didn't lose anything. Things are replaceable, people are not. I wouldn't change how that day happened because it gave me a better perspective on life.
I, as everyone else, deal with things differently and emote their emotions differently, but I know no matter what life throws at you you can get through it. Everything does happen for a reason, good or bad, it's just they way to want to deal with it at the time or when you are ready to deal with it.
I can fully admit that I have no confidence in myself in anything I do, or think that I'm the best at anything but I do believe I am here for a reason. Be a great friend, work hard, love everyone, and be a supporter. This is my role in life.
Take everyday for what you make it and know you have a purpose in life and deal with it. We all have been through a lot no matter how young or old you are but we are all dealing with something. It's how you choose to deal and choose to embark forward on the path of life.

If any of us died tomorrow

Thankful for today and all that I’ve got
Learning new things, taking a new shot

Twenty years have gone by
Since the high school shooting at Columbine
The intruders took many innocent lives
Wounding many others as they pass by
The horror scenes that occurred that day
Will never be erased from our memory banks
From then, and even to this day, the horrific massacre that took so many away
It seems like this tragic event happened yesterday
Still fresh in our minds, even after all this time
Today, we remember those we have lost, those that survived that day, and have to live on carry this weight today
We take a moment of silence and pray, together, for everyone who was involved, remembering their journeys, in their honor, we send them love today, on this 20 year anniversary...

The rain begins to fall
Like tears from heaven from y’all
Who left us behind
I’m so not fine
I cannot tell a lie
I do still cry
From time to time
Missing you by my side
But then I feel the drops from the sky
