Every year
the same deal
treats
obtained too early
under the
seasonally seductive
store lights
nestled  next
to  the fake fall foliage
become mysteriously
rerouted
from their final destination
as intense inspections
conducted
under the guise of
quality control
these  pilfered  provisions
perform a vanishing act
visions of  sad
costumed tots
at the  doorway
with empty bags
hurry a return visit
for rapid  replacements
tragedy narrowly
averted
once
   again
Every year   I buy Halloween candy too early and wind up  noshing on too many...and then have to buy  more  to avert  the disaster  of  running out of candy on  Halloween night ...
I wrote this a few years back , finished it today  !

fly
not magic
just static
fuzzy slippers slipping
along the  carpet
only heat
my  stone cold bones
are feeling
          today
I wrote a version of this poem when I lived in New England about seven years ago. It's been   so  cold  this  year so far  so early in the  season , I brought this  sucker back from  the dusty archives !

swirly twirls
roll rough shod
over
dead yards
half naked trees
shake what mamma nature
gave them
orphaned leaves
cling desperately
to
  lifeline branches
frustrated
by   frenzied spasms
stripped down  to  the last
vibrant vestiges
of  Autumn's
woefully weakened
grasp
as winter's stealthy
approach
is  announced
Today's poetic  exercise   as  I watched out the window...those last  leaves  dancing   through my neighborhood  and  twirling up my nose  giving me my usual Fall allergy blast !

All Hallows Eve
is history
the saloon girl and her cowboy
a crumpled heap
on bedroom chairs
pictures all shared
ghouls , ghosts
zombies ,zoo life
tiny  princesses
alien  invasion
through  the fake  fog
and chainsaw screeches
candy from strangers
never tasted
so sweet
From passing out candy on   Halloween 2012
.Also ,fyi , my birthday is  Halloween !

Gnomes out back who fuss and moan,
The weeds are too high they continue to groan,
I feel for them I really do,
But they know I am busy with so much too.
Ungrateful resin folk who cop an attitude about a few colorful sprigs,
Despite the fact they live in such lavish digs.
So some spiky ends of greenery may tickle their noses,
While they continue to hold their impish poses.
In fact I am planning a surprise for their flower bed,
Rainbow rock pebbles and new mulch will soon be spread,
Plus multiple squirts of ****-be-gone,
Next week you'll see a whole new lawn.
As I shell out more loot to keep this bit of paradise lovely-
I keep my eyes wide open for signs of impending mutiny.
My last day  in  college creative writing  class spring 2005, this was my exam  .I had  an hour to write this piece   and it had to rhyme .Flying by the seat of my pants , I wrote  about  my then backyard. This sealed my final grade  at the college for that course. An "A"!

you are the color
of my gypsy soul
tiny letters
on the bottom of a tube
I can no longer see
without bifocal assistance
sweetly simple
smooth wax motion
over my pucker
that shapely stick
helps redraw
my daily destiny
like bees to honey
my man
kisses and tells
you look like
a million bucks
baby
I won a contest  to name  a  lipstick color yesterday run  by Red Apple  brand   ! It's a deep  browny-red  , I called  Gypsy Soul.  Inspiration  came a little  bit from my life   as a military brat always moving around , and  for one of my favorite  songs by  Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac "Gypsy"  .I am a girly girl  and I love  lipstick  & gloss. My  color name will remain   on that color as long as they make that  wonderful  brand !

those colors
do look fabulous
on you
  that  old shack
never looked so good
arm-like branches
outstretched
with suggestive  swagger
all check me out
my  brazen Fall foliage
is what makes
  this dirt ditch
ramshackle  place
somebody's  shabby chic
rustic Americana
Home
I am green eyed
with envy
as we pass
your piece of the world
that  fountain of youth
within
your  molecules
keeps
you super  cool
  a local  icon
as long as
no one
chops you down
Local trees  got  autumnal game right  now.Coming into their own , and not to shy to  show it all off..
