You are my sunshine, my gentle light,
The warmth that holds me through the night.
When skies are heavy, and shadows fall,
Your voice, your smile, it breaks them all.

But clouds will gather, and time may fade,
The golden hues begin to shade.
Yet in my heart, you'll always stay,
My sunshine bright, my brightest day.

Sure they all say
Putting yourself together again is possible
But everyone fails to mention
That jagged edges will never fit the same
Glueing together sharp sides
May keep it all together for now
But
Only one drop away
From returning to a fractured state

“Mama tried,” Mama lied.
Mama stole your car and sold it for a price
Married five times, Mama never could decide.
Always called me ugly, but I have Mama’s eyes.
Betrayed by fate, Mama hates that she’s alive.
Stay up late at night just to hear Mama cry.
It’s hard to feel pity when Mama casts you to the side.
There was never any love in the house where Mama resides.
But sure, Mama tried. Mama Tried.

Don’t undress me
With your eyes.
I wish I could show you-
Raised, jagged, ugly marks
But I can’t.

So we dance
With clothes on,
Until you get bored.

You asked me if I had
     Written
a poem today?

No I said.  You could not
have known that you are

     my poem.

My metaphors have changed.
You took my sad attempt’
'
to make of my life

     a story someone might
read, even for a moment.
Tonight I can tell you

     You are the meter
which steers the thing
I call love.

An unusual poem, filled
with all the things you are.

So I will know you when
     finally
we are met
and One.

For Kinik
I stare in a mirror of ice
see myself in paradise
fever warm that night
walking into the light.
We'll bury our hearts
in their aching parts
later when blood dries
we understand whys.
We love certain things
hate no wedding rings.

Jesus' baby
In her gentle hands, I was held,
From her loving chambers, I came forth to dwell.
A woman, yet an ocean vast,
Filled with precious treasures that forever will last.

Vast and virtuous, she stands apart,
One of a kind, a loving heart.
She broods over her own with care,
Nurturing and guiding with a love beyond compare.

She provides, she supplies, and she loves unconditionally,
A blessing from God, a treasure to me.
Unspoken are the sacrifices she's made,
A true personality, in every way.

My guiding light, my shining star,
Forever in my heart, near and far.
She is the figure,
The personality I revere.
A poem to the woman of my life, My Mummy.
sometimes I miss you to the point that I feel you pulsing in my bones vibrating in that rhythm the tempo
yours and yours alone
