If I could go back
To the day that we met
You know what I would do

I'd still say hey
Tell you my name
Then say that I love you

Why take up the years
It took to get here
To come up with that truth

Now that I've thought it out
Beyond a shadow of doubt
That's exactly what I would do

The day I said hey
And told you my name
I would tell you that I love you
I tasted the sweetness of love shine
and felt Heaven reach into hearts of some
I seen the hands of God's touch
take hold of those in His welcome
I seen a poor man with nothing to give
share what the hands of God gave us to live
while those who had more than they need
just turn their heads and look the other way
I watched the hatred of a discriminated race
bring tears to a child's innocence face
while he stood there and saw his family bleed
I took the hands of God and pressed on
while others turned their backs on Him and me
and showed no care or sympathy
I sat and watched trust leave a place
while all that we were taught just erase
a world that took what should of never gone
I prayed with the hands of God on me
all that I have seen go on so much
for a world to change what we've become
I heard the hypocrite's talk with grace
as they only speak in words of disgrace
while the hands of God reached to save a time
to those who only look with eyes blind to see
in a world that only became cold and gray

Girls just wanna have fun,
And I'm always down for a good time.
Play and laughter under the sun,
Yet, Innocence gets tangled in loves twine.
So I look for a way, but learn,
Feelings can fool an infatuated mind.
Can emotions ever be controlled?
Or am I doomed to leave my heart on the line?
She wasn't storybook pretty
She wasn't even the plain kind of pretty
No mary sue or timid thing
She was weepy phonecalls at 3am
And smashing plates in kitchen sinks
She was thunder and lightning
Bright and burning
And you couldn't catch her if you tried
She was destruction and it was not
Beautiful, but it was enchanting
The type of girl who stole breaths
Simply for the enjoyment of watching
Us mere things gasping for air
She was a galeforce wind in winter
You couldn't look away,
And she couldn't stay
Even if she wanted to.

Look to the One who reigns
In goodness and mercy
Who conquers the foe
Look to the One is over all
Lord Jesus, Jesus, Lord over all
people need to stop
with this whole
'real women have curves -
real women have stretch marks -
real women have cellulite -'
etcetera freaking etcetera
this mentality is killing us
i have rolls and wrinkles
and skin dimples
and i am real as the dawn
and my best friend has none
she is slim and lithe
and unmarred by flesh like mine
and she is real
and she is beautiful
and i am beautiful
bodies are bodies
stop it.
