The demon in us all

Or even God himself
But God sees all of his children

But he also knows that
None of us are ever too far

Then a couple steps away from heaven
From the cleansing and healing
When we accept ourselves for who we really are
And stop listening to the world
And start listening to our hearts
And following our souls
And following our true calling in life
We all live in heaven or hell

Its just depends
On which way you look at it

When I think of heaven
I don't think of some angry God pointing down
Spitting out rules and regulations
Condemning people's souls to hell
Love rules everything
There is a little God
And a little heaven in all of us
Even the greatest sinner
Still has a little piece
We live
We die
We move on
We grow
We have to be willing
To accept the God in everyone
And love everyone accordingly
Or else we are limiting our view of God
And ultimately limiting our view of heaven.

I don't believe that any body on this site is aware of my recent diagnosis of Huntington Disease and I wanted to get the chance to let  all of you guys know and even though it has been a while since I have written anything new I still wanted to share it with you guys. I will let you guys know more as things progress but if you have any questions to ask about it just shoot me a message in this post and I will try to answer them as honestly as possible. I have come to enjoy your poetry and I have appreciated any positive comments you have left on my poetry too so I at least wanted to give you guys the heads up about it and where I am at with it.

There are some things in this world
That can't be explained
Life's little inconsistencies
That seems to plague us
Sometimes it can feel like
The world is upside down
It can get easy to get caught up
Living in inconsistencies
Moving away from the reality
Living our lives backwards
Not really understanding
Exactly where we are supposed to be
But when you start to line yourself up
And once you start to understand
That life shouldn't be forfeit for pride
For greed
For power
For personal gain
Out of anger
Out of fear
Out of ignorance
People are living lost
Moving backwards
From where they should be
Harming themselves
And often others in the process
But we must learn to live in reality
And step away from the inconsistencies
That cloud us from where we should be

We are all influenced
In different ways
Whether they be subtle
Or whether they are blatant
Leaving permanent changes
We are all subject
To the influences
That make up who we are

There is this voice
