A single point in time
A new body
Insignificant and important
Another cry
Another pair of eyes
A child
Stumbling
Blindly

The Road goes ever on and on

Down from the door where it began.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,

And I must follow, if I can,

Pursuing it with eager feet,

Until it joins some larger way

Where many paths and errands meet,

And whither then? I cannot say.
All that is gold does not glitter,

Not all those who wander are lost;

The old that is strong does not wither,

Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king.
Today was perfect, what more can I say?
I wish we could do that, every day.
You smile was beautiful, your hair perfect
and I was so nervous, you have that effect.
Your lips are amazing, they tasted so sweet
You say you love me more? That'd be quite a feat.

Cause here I am writing poems, and awaiting a chance
To see you again even just at a glance
Today was the single most perfect day of all time

oh man i think i could do that
i could write a folk song
i could write a rock song
forget that i tried
that i quiver
and forget lyrics
and have nothing
to say

and then back
to do something with poetry
'cause otherwise
there's just that much less poetry
in this mostly
unexamined
life

we met
we married
we loved
we died
And years ago
They fought
They fought for the basic
Rights
Every human
Regardless
Of race
Or gender
Deserves
Freedom
They fought
And we said no

And now we are embarrassed
By the pain
And the hurt
And the suffering
That we caused
But we can’t take it back
So we pretend it is not there

And years ago
They fought
And today they fight again
And we cause pain
And hurt
And suffering
They fight and we say no

Years from now
Our humiliation
Will be harder to mask
The face in the mirror
That you see
That has caused
The pain
And hurt
And suffering
Will not be beautiful
It will not be what you expect
All because you said no
Again
To a right
Every human
Regardless of
Race
Gender
And sexuality
Deserves

This is not a war
Of your God
Or their God
We do not stone
The man and woman
Who divorced
We accept it
And move on
Leaving
That judgment
To God
Why can we not do the same?
Does Matthew 7:1
Not say
“do not judge,
or you too will be judged.”
So why
Does this continue
Only to one day be
As obvious as a choice
As it was to give freedom
To every person

Because this cannot be
Freedom
If we are not all
Free

Social Injustice;
from ****** to ****
from kidnapping to ******
all these things our society does best

How cold can you get?
How do you sleep with yourself?
Is your heart at rest?
Do you ever not regret?

We are the reason our nation is corrupt
We are the reason God looks down on us
I know they say God never changes
and will always be compassionate
But what if God gets fed up and turns his back on us?

Over-taxation!
Why do we have to pay so much for the food we need?

Extortion!
Why does the poor pay for the rich to eat?

Religious Persecution!
When did religion become a war of better denomination?

Police Brutality!
This grows each and everyday
Why are we being physically, mentally and emotionally abused by our 'protectors'?
What about the mothers that cry for their children?
All our prayers in vain
You even **** newborn babies,
souls die without a name

Where is your shame?
Do you feel no pain?
Society, we are sure to perish,
if these social injustices remain the same...
