A Young Poet
Christina Nov 2019
Let me find time

to come together again

but it’s no use

with this paper thin mind,

so help me erase

the pressures of these rhymes

And we can fall together

to the sin of my crimes

My piano glows red
Christina Nov 2019
The dark was weighing on me

took the sleep that I was walking,

so I led myself to reap

all the riles I’ve been planting-

Yes I’ve read your warning message

saw the dread that you were spreading

but I misread the bleating red

and fell short of my descending.

I'm not really sure what to tag any more, so I'll leave it.

Act I: Adolescence
Christina Jul 2020
Inevitable it was
for the little kin to stray from its den
and fall into the hole of another
stumbled, staggered and fled
and sticks up their chin all the same
as a child, glued to their game.
Strung up those far-fetched dreams
making its way down heavy-rocked streams

It’s curfew now.
Make your way home, safe and sound
And find a reason to wake up tomorrow

unintended

this lopsided goop
that slops on its walls

pinching words that don’t mean much at all
kick
crawl
bawl
and drawl the words over your head
clinging on to yesterday’s tread

tipping on my toes
we all know I’m not alone yet
but when will it be?
that one day I’ll lose all completely

arched back
hitched breath
rolling eyes
and nothing yet.
