Beat of your heart
Tracey Jan 2018
blasting songs on her radio
one simple beat
made her heart skip
a familiar voice that made her jump on her feet

swaying to the sound of lorde
closed eyes
cutting all ties
3 minutes and 41 second she hold and adored

loud thump of her heart
cold sweat running through her skin
a mess of an art
every turn and spin
accompanied with a radiant grin

losing her grip in this land
grabbed optimistic's inviting hand
letting the music engulf her bones
a picture of a care free girl shown

dancing away her problems
getting lost in her imaginative world
her head in the clouds
never wanting to stop

she danced all these years
so caught up in her imagination
she said dancing disappear her fears
she worried about the music's duration
for when it ends
demons will be back knocking in her head

she danced in order to escape her issues
by 65 years old people hold onto their tissues
for the sight they've seen
will never be unseen

there lies a fragile body
tired lifeless frame
poor soul danced her heart away
till death choked her airway
I wrote this poem after listening to perfect places. It's also my first poem i post so go easy on me please.
