Cages

I used to draw cages,
Cages as open as your mouth,
But as empty as your words.
Cages as cold as winters touch,
But not as frozen as your heart.
Cages so dark and lonely,
A mirror of myself.
I used to draw cages,
Cages that I could never fill,
Because they were
only drawings,
That I drew
Inside
my cell

Broken

She knew a boy
She let him in.
It was an accident, really
So is that a sin?
But she made the mistake
Of trusting this boy
And thought that maybe,
Just maybe
He could bring her some joy.
But her ideals were wrong
For his opinions were too strong.
And so, without knowing,
He broke the girl.
Without knowing of his wrong.

morning glory
Somewhere there’s a boy wishing on dead stars and lost dreams and he knows this but he keeps doing it anyway. Somewhere there’s a girl sitting by the ocean, tears in her eyes, waiting for him to finally find the note she left under the promise ring he gave her two months ago, and come save her. She’ll eventually let the tides take her and she’ll become a part of the ocean, lost in between continents, while he is somewhere up in the sky, lost in between the stars that no longer shine, wondering if she might accept the expensive diamond ring in a velvet box he worked his whole life to afford.

Life

We live
So we can die
And we say hello
So we can say Goodbye

We go run
To only then run back
We try so hard
To only then just slack

We give it are all
To only then fail
We try to be alive
To only then be thrown in jail

We live
So we can die
We smile and laugh
So we can cry

My Love

She isn't a She
and
He isn't a He.

The two that make them whole
is
My Love

They have their moments;
being She
being He.
I love all of those moments.

Sometimes frilly and cute,
Sometimes suave and handsome.
The two don't **** heads.
Neither of them take priority.

They /both/ take precedence.
They're /both/ important to me.
They /both/ make me smile.
They /both/ love me.

I love Her.
I love Him.

She is my love.
He is my love.

My love.
(This poem is dedicated to my loving partner, Skylar. Our 1 year anniversary was on August 25th, and I took the liberty to create a poem for said partner, Skylar. I hope you like it baby!)
