I am done with the chains that seem to bind me to your feet.
No more broken promises.
No more lies
I wont give you a chance to deceit me again.
I was there every time you were in need.
But where were you when my soul cried out for you.
I thought what we had was true.
But I can tell you only used me for the attention.
If you cared for me,
where were you when I hit rock bottom?

It could be that I expected too much from you,
Or that you weren't who I wanted you to be.
If everything you ever did was sincere,
If everything you ever said was true,
Then this will break your heart.
And I hope it does.

You say you don't know what you want,
But I do.
You say you don't know what you want to do,
But that doesn't matter.

My heart is tired,
And I'm taking it for a rest.
I just hope if you are going to realize what happened,
I hope you do it soon because if I'm too far gone,
You won't be able to find me.

Maybe later we could start from scratch.
Otherwise,
Our journey ends here.
Maybe when we're old,
We will think this was just a dream,
Or a well written song.
There is an uncertainty that resides within,
Where meaning should be,
Forehead weighed down by a frown,
Where bliss should be,
A dampened spirit lies in wake,
Where belief should be,
Escaping the world,
The world where I should be,
Looking away from what is,
Looking for where I would like to be,
There is ignorance at purpose,
Where doing should be,
There is a Depression,
Where life should be.
All this deceiving is getting far too easy
All my white lies are stacking up like spies
Who can I trust in this world of lust?
Who listen as if it's a given

So go talk to a wall, get hugs from a waterfall
Here it all goes down the drain and you will be ok
Just kick up the floor, it's doesn't matter anymore
You are the boss of it here, and I will lend you my ear

Just listen for my sign, we be alright
Together we can and will fight
We will win before the night
We all know what it's like to not need anyone
But I bet you need me now and I'll be there somehow

Just listen to the clock because time knows best
Find your clock and don't let it stop
I realized I hadn't ever put this one up.

We fell in love in cars…

You can call this an ode to our love and to the cars
That played along as we drove by all these smoky bars,
They held us while we fell, from under these streetlights,
Its dark out here but the moon is rather bright.

While you were sitting in the front seat smoking a cigarette you thought was gonna be your last, I was falling deep, deep in love with you.
Your hopes became my hopes, your dreams my dreams too,
Instead of empty streets, there lay a golden shore,
Who would have thought we’d be there so many times before?

And soon you found yourself sitting in that seat next to mine,
On a cruise off to nowhere where we could lose track of time.
And I sure was smitten by that smile I brought to your eyes,
The first time I truly believed cars could fly.

From the topics of life out on the open road,
To all the silly little jokes we’ve told;
Fate found its way to our hearts through the
Wheels of our tires on our hand me down cars.

We fell in love in cars,
And on these country roads, back when we had time to waste
with no where else to go.
and no matter where we end up, no matter how very far,
Our love will be woven into the bones inside these cars.
I know I should stop criticising
Every minuscule error in revising
The grammar in here
I should not interfere
And I really should stop analysing

But I cannot erase what I see
And the teacher insists inside me
That I share what I know
About grammar and how
To revise before posting for the world to see

Your and you're are some major sinners
They make good poets look like beginners
Plus confusions in tense
Make them seem rather dense
And that's sad when they should look like winners
I'm a grammar ****,  I know.  Sorry!  I just had to say something....

The question is not what can be
But moreso of what will be

We have no idea
Nor concept
Of what the future holds

But if we can somehow
Isolate a finite set of rules
Or principles
We could create a better
Understanding
Or equation

One which we could possibly
Engage each other
And ourselves in,
And delve farther
Into "what if"
Rather than "if what".
