People complain,
about their sucky jobs.
I laugh and say;
"Come carry what I do."
They don't understand,
I leave with a smile on my face
Just knowing...

The lives I save,
I protect each and one of you,
Every day.

I may not be around,
But I'll be forever found.
Overseas,
At base,
I'm a soldier,
Each day.

I carry a rifle by my side,
I hold secrets til I die.
My family doesn't like the choice I made,
But I know I'm happy,
Each and every day.

I've set myself a part,
From each and one of you,
I know I'll be in your hearts,
When the day comes that I die,
Protecting you.
I am apart of the of the military. I love doing my job, I may not see my family every day, but hey. I'm doing one better.

If "disposable" is one of the words that come to mind when you think of me, even if it's intermingled with "beautiful" and "lovely"
I don't need you in my life
Although that doesn't mean I won't still want you in it. I never really do what's best for myself

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things.
I read this long time ago,. It came back to me but I cannot remember who said it. Maybe that's why it is so true. Borges used to say that maybe the best poems are those you can never remember where they came from.

Is it the end of an era?
No.
Is it the end of an age?
No.
Is it the end of me?
Maybe.

The end of an ending,
My dear, we've barely begun,
But this has been coming,
The ending must be at the end.
Drivel, sorry.
