No Match
MaryJane Doe Jul 2015
I am no match
Nor your flame
But baby won't you lay me down
And ******* just the same
*******
  Like you know me
Be the reason
That we came

When In Rome
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
Sometimes
I wake tired
Of waiting all alone
Sometimes
The place I live
Doesn't feel like my home
So I close my eyes
And I let my mind roam

A stitch in time
  Can save you

But it seems
  These seams
Have cost me
     Mine

On the presuppos
  Of happiness
This edge
Is a ledge
So tall
  A high
That I
Can not deny
Regardless
The farthest
       I fall

Stitches (In Time)
MaryJane Doe Mar 2015
Secrets don't make friends
They break
   A sacred bond
One you can never mend

In this
  Fabric of time
A life
  It's just a line
Mine...
  "I'm fine"
& you've crossed me
One more time

  They say
a stitch in time
Can tend to save you
      Nine
But it seems
  These seams
I tend & mend to
Cost me
All of mine
Think i finally got it out.

Amused
  By my muse
The Knights tale
In pale beams
As mourning
  Brings bright light
Leaving nothing
As it seems

    A wake
In my dreams
For the sake of
Lack of means

The Party Favor
MaryJane Doe May 2014
I envy
  The over
        Inflated
           Balloon
This really
        Isn't
     A big enough
          Room

Elated...
  The balloon
      Is free
   As I wish to be
      But nothing
Is truly
As it seems...

    I did it the favor
No one ever did me
   & put it out
Of its misery
      Bang!
All eyes on me...
  Sorry to ruin
Your surprise
     Party

Lesson In Regression
MaryJane Doe May 2014
Flickering
    In the waters
Are tiny omitted truths
   Regressed to the depths
Just light enough to prove

Theory
    On the current
Perspective from the raft
  No forecast foretold
A blind mans craft

In the eye of the storm
In the calm
     Of its wake
Reflections
    Shine clearer
   He'll get
What he can take

Numb by the cold wind
   Of the storms of past
Clinging to the feeling
He's letting down the mast

For he has no need
Of a light house beaming
Those flickering omitions
    Are the light
       Of how he's feeling

My Style Is Poor : Change
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
I'm the prophet in my life
Nothing in my wallet
The only paper that I make
Holds the words of my sonnet
Nothing left but sense
Just the change in my pocket
Safe near my heart
Without a way to lock it
My style is poor
So who's gonna rob it
Yea my style is poor
But I'm gonna rock it
Cuz these words
Are all I own

When I can't buy what I want
I learn to live
With what I've got
Cuz happiness
Just can't be bought
It must be found
It must be sought
When I can't buy what I need
I learn I need the change
That's in my pocket
Change is all I need

I don't buy things on credit
I won't make that promise
My truth is my proof
I'm just trying to be honest
Flying high on life
Blazing tales like comets
You'll never be low
When life has you high on it
My style is poor
But I'm gonna rocket
Cuz the sky is where I fly

When I can't buy what I want
I learn to live
With what I've got
Cuz happiness
Just can't be bought
It must be found
It must be sought
When I can't buy what I need
I learn I need the change
That's in my pocket
Change is all I need

Not The Same
MaryJane Doe Sep 2015
I don't love you the same
As I once did before
I can honestly say
I love you more

Your the heart
In my beat
And the soul
Of my feat
Without you
My life would not be
Complete

Short Life Lessons
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
She jotted the moment
Capturing it in essence
   And he watched
As she scribbled
  Short life lessons
She wanted to remember
The hunger in his eyes
  As her pen jotted on
       It could tell no lies
  She wrote the word lonely
           In a silent cry
   This man was no poet
Left only to question
        Why?

Only Ever After
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
You spoke
Threw malt
Flavored lips
       Your hands
   On my hips
With *****
      Finger tips
               And the lies
           In your lines
       I had heard
        Many times
              Only
                      Ever
                          After
                      One
                           Two
                      Many
                           Sips

— The End —
