It must be nice
JamieR Apr 2020
It must be nice to have friends.
It must be nice to belong;
It must be nice to live
not always feeling so-so.

It must be nice to be remembered,
though of once in a while.
It must be nice to remember
the past, able to smile.

It must be nice to be normal
like you are every day.
It must be nice to live;
It must be nice.

For You
JamieR Mar 2020
A year has passed since we last met,
Try as I may I can't forget
your smile- your words when I sank below
into despair- You helped me so
but I, a fool, did not accept
the pain you had; when you wept
I saw nothing, I was selfish;
I did only to find my bliss-
not yours but mine and mine alone.

Each day that fades before my eyes,
With it, my guilt it grows- Sunrise,
sunsets, they but repeat to no
avail- You never came back- Though
I'm told not to, I can't help but
think back- Your pain with each fierce cut
that bled your soul; You gave me your all
and I live now, but then I stall
and stall- I must forget they tell.
For you, I must live through this hell.

Last Words
JamieR Mar 2020
Be gone you shout'd so be,
Away from you, I'll stay;
I know someone like me,
You'd find one any day.

But know before I leave,
The things that once were said;
What we take, what we give,
Our past on stone is laid.

And if we meet once more,
And tears from my face fall;
Just one thing, please be sure,
For you they're not- that's all.

Call
JamieR Apr 2020
In depths of darkness unforgiving,
The lantern hangs high-- deceiving
me to reach above afar away.
In this place, I chose to stay, loving
all I felt in eternal evening;
hoping to see a slight tint of grey.

I screamed. Only Echos heard my call.

My lie
JamieR Mar 2020
Shut your mouth and never talk,
Never let their harsh words sink in;
For when you open up your mouth,
Their muse their victories you begin.

Choose then, if can, remain silent,
Whatever cruel stories they tell;
The now will pass with each second,
Settled is none with just a yell.

Remember not who wronged you,
The pain and suffering they caused;
The pain and joy of yesterday,
For good in life in time is lost.
