Social distancing.
Harshitha Girish Mar 2020
I am bottled in my home to be safe.
Just like my feelings.
Been having a lot to deal with. The best therapy for such heartbreaks is family.
Be back within a week x

Please be safe, maintain distance, wash or sanitise hands frequently. Lets keep the world and ourselves safe.

Love, harshi x

Milk-Foam Mustaches.
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
I wish we could go back to
the naïve age where
we would drink milk,
leave the Milk-Foam Mustaches,
and laugh ourselves silly.
Is it just me, or did everyone else drink their milk just to have a white mustache?! Oh, those were the days...

Baby.
Harshitha Girish Jan 2020
As she held her in her womb
She felt her little princess kick.
And she couldn't help but wonder
      What troubled her little chic?

Happy.
Harshitha Girish Jan 2020
Be happy,
Not because you're forced to be,
Because you're made to be.

Tribute.
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
God took him away so fast,
He didn't get to return his smile,
He didn't get to give a last hug.
He just sighed for the last time,
And glided away...
He didn't get to choose his bride,
He didn't get to choose his best man,

He didn't get to say goodbye.
Sometimes, great people in the making die young...

Records.
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
She was like an Elvis Presley record.
Slow.
Charismatic.
Blissfully beautiful.
Like a ray of sunlight within his dark heart.
She was the record,
constantly running in his veins.
A record
He would never stop.

Stars.
Harshitha Girish Feb 2020
She didn't get her children the stars they asked for.
She educated them and made them fly to the constellations
They always dreamed of.
My mother is an angel. She never gave us all we asked for. She made us work for it. As a result, my sibling and I always work for something. Today, we realise our mother's words are true, and nothing in life comes easy.
You have to earn rewards.
A tribute to my mother, who works hard for me everyday....

Wounds.

Sometimes
Some wounds
Cut so deep
That even hydrogen peroxide
Proves to be ineffective.

Her soul.
Harshitha Girish Jan 2020
She looked at the tornado of problems
Swooping around, destroying everything in its way

She couldn't help but chuckle
Showing her dimples so deep
As she tied her hair up
And winked at the trouble.

She.
Harshitha Girish Jan 2020
Her hair was like the clouds
     Unkept and curly
Her eyes were like a dream.
Her smile was the type anyone would fall for
            With dimples so deep

Her attitude was kinda sassy
       She put people off
But she was just this kind
         Which everyone adored.

Add three cups of Brilliance,
and three cups of Knowledge.
Mix two cups of Conceptual Information
And stir like a porridge.
That makes an average teacher.

Great teachers
Have a sprinkle of sparkling presence,
A bag full of passion to teach
A jug of compassion and love to students
The ability to help them face fears
Accept weaknesses
And harness strengths.

Great teachers, in short, are just like parents.
All through this year, my life has been an absolute rollercoaster. With the help of my amazing parents and the help of the greatest teacher, Lawrence Sir, I was able to come out of it. The dedication he has is unfathomable. Everyday however tired he is, he has a smile and a sparkle to teach. He has wiped my tears and mended my ways.
No poem can match the presence of him in my life, and I am so grateful for that.
I am what I am because of him and my family whose support is a blessing.
May everyone be blessed with a Lawrence Sir in their lives.
Because he is a fine teacher and a brilliant man.
