I thought we'd walk
along the sand, write
our names on it and
leave footprints behind.

I thought we'd hold
our hands so tight
sit under the tree and
watch the stars at night.

I thought we'd watch
the sea, its unwinding
stench and join as the
sun sets for the day.

I thought we'd lean
each other's back,
face tomorrow's breadth,
and create our future ahead.

I thought we'd end
up putting rings, live
together happily but she
took you away from me.
it falls in thousands
as it calms the minds
of the jaded souls
seeking sighs in pause;
it creeps with chills,
so you either grab
a warm cup of coffee
or snuggle in blankets
so which of the two,
take a sip or sleep.
