My words became
Roses
And made bouquets
To brighten her room
Beautiful red roses
Without any wilted petals
Of sorrow or fear
I left them laying
Strewn carelessly
About her bed
And left the crying
For the cold hallways

Maman Screams
Neglecting lights shining ahead
Providing insurance of love again
Infusing with minimal nights instead
Withdrawing dignity could just be sane

Full of lies
Filled with liars
I'm in pain

Travelling again down this road of shame
Burying my pride engulfed in flames
The back of my mind have gone astray
Looking for my final resting place

You don't care
Say you do
Maybe I change

For this world is so pretentious and fake
May tomorrow be a better day
With or without your heart you say
Don't you worry
I'll be fine away

True friends listen to your fears
when the chips are down.
They stand by you in your pain,
when everyone else scatters.
They take you for who you are
& don't pass judgment.

They cry when you cry.
They laugh when you laugh.
Sometimes they cry when you laugh,
sometimes they laugh when you cry.
Friends don't feed you illicit drugs,
they don't chug your weakness with you,
or fill you with self-doubt.

They stay true.
They pick you up
in turbulent times.
They face the wind with
you in the good times.
No matter what,
they believe in you.

And they do it unselfishly.
They do it with real
genuine love,
not that synthetic kind,
the kind
most people use
all of the time.

Goddess in love with a man
Her hourglass spills my sand
Captivated by mortal charm
Her hunger can do such harm

Loving her feels like sin
A love that burns within
Jealousy like you've never seen
She even stalks me in my dreams

Nails down back, pulling hair
Lust bites and I don't care
Within her temple I blasphemy
And in the end
She breaks her fast for me...
