and so i lay here
reminiscing about how beautiful
that evening was

the orangey-red scheme
and how it made your eyes look warmer
than usual
and as you spoke it hurt
but i was happy
knowing
that you were there
with me in that moment
and you
possibly
won’t forget me..

she pulls up to school with
the short jean skirt that she begged
her mother for
with knee-high socks and tall white chucks

she’s got an
overripe peach logo on her
faded off white shirt
which she tucked in after she got into homeroom..




this was it
the first year..
only three more to go..

we woke up super early
unzipped each of our tents in stealth mode
and tip-toe ran all the way up the hill
to brush our teeth y entonces
give each other a lil morning lovin’

we walked back down separately and started up a fire
not a metaphoric one in our hearts of course
but the story changes depending
on who’s asking..

Waking up next to the love of my life,
Seeing our dogs at the base of our bed still huddled together.
We go out for a walk in the park hand in hand,
on top of the world.
The  serenading sounds of nature disrupted by sirens
She pleads for me not to let go but something is shaking me pulling on me and as I hold on for dear life it isn’t enough
I awake in a panic in my room, my alarm is going off and mom is lightly shaking me.
It felt so real, so what else is a lie..

i have walked many planets
and their moons
taking time to ponder on my
love for the generous universe.

every night i’d watch the sun transition
and i loved it when it came and even
when it went..
and i was content with the stars.

until i saw you arrive
on a near planet..
and you came out

my astronaut man
with all the planets on strings like
giant balloons

and you approached me and knelt on one knee
as you asked to explore the rest of the universe with me.



there is so much to see my love
