The weight of a dragonfly does not break the stem of a flower.
I am the family face;
Flesh perishes, I live on,
Projecting trait and trace
Through time to times anon,
And leaping from place to place
Over oblivion.

The years-heired feature that can
In curve and voice and eye
Despise the human span
Of durance—that is I;
The eternal thing in man,
That heeds no call to die.

Moonlight reflections off salt water
Bodies tan
Warm sand
This is home

Moonlight reflections off raindrops
Guitar strings strumming
Crack of lightning
This is home

Moonlight reflections off bare walls
Soft skin
Entangled limbs
This is home

Moonlight reflections off blue eyes
Inside, a beating heart
With skeleton armor

I am home.

Reflections on the water
Skies above are blue
Flowers will be blooming
Spring is overdue

Winter it may linger
But soon your eyes will see
Nature will bring warmer days
*To run through happily
Thank you for reading
my lips try to hold
the lingering taste

of your
love you, love you, farewell

cactus holding water
from a rainfall

that happens only once
each year

I am thinking Arizona

when you suggest
we start seeing other horizons

tumbleweeds where words should be

sandy tongue apologies

dehydrated and hallucinating

I mistook you for an oasis
All that is gold does not glitter,

Not all those who wander are lost;

The old that is strong does not wither,

Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king.
