Adam & Eve
Chad Clarke Dec 2019
~
A glistening moonlight
shines upon us both.
Trees lie awake bearing fruits of truth.
An apple, like a stud in my throat.

A forsaken knowledge,
a loss of courage,
we see the truth in our lives.
So long have we lived deprived.

With a betrayal of trust, he forced us out
and away from home we went.
No longer in Eden, expulsed for treason,
we made do with our new-found freedom.

Summer's Day
Chad Clarke Nov 2019
~
Flowers bloom
signaling the start of summer
Chirping birds flutter
as they call for their distant mother.
With skies so bright
we’d soon forget those winter nights
And the sun has never felt so lovely.
In the sheets my worries lay,
Only to be forgotten
in this lovely sunny day.
So here my mind will stay,
Until our next winter day.
Where the nights are long
and flowers are all gone,
I’ll yearn
for another summer’s day.

My Gravity
Chad Clarke Apr 2017
~
You are my gravity,
The reason I hold on to my sanity.
Losing you,
Is losing my last hope for humanity.

Look At The Stars
Chad Clarke Apr 2017
~
All of these stars have a reason.
A reason to shine,
A reason like mine.

You are the one that keeps the peace,
When i'm falling to pieces.
