Ayn Nov 2021
The last streams of daylight fade away,
Like the frail afterimage
Of melancholic memories;
Drifting quietly like seaglass,
Submerged in an unfamiliar world.
I got nothing to add to this, so imagery is what it all is i guess.

As the somniferous air sets in
Like an ocean of sea glass;
The flowing tide echoing through my mind.

A dream of newfound waters
Surfacing like a long lost memory,
Calling forth from the autumn breeze.

Like gemstones in the rain,
I’m free to bleed out the colors.
The desire to leave an empty shell
Overpowered by a desire for vitality.

Nameless Echoes
Ayn Nov 2021
From the void a voice calls out;
A warm greeting once again.
Inside my body desires to roar,
Let out a vibrant call of vitality.

You walk in like flowers,
Yet leave me pinned with daggers.

You say life won’t get any harder,
Then nail me to my cross,
Making my emotions your martyr.
Sometimes your actions confuse me. Sometimes i wish you’d realize for a second what’s really going on, so i can stop denying myself of this emotion. Everything we do together doesn’t help me fix myself at all… it just makes it all worse.

He’s back once more;
The icy presence held at the door.
My heat is drained away
Like a fleeting fall leaf,
And all that’s left is an empty shell;
Something he wouldn’t sell.

Why all the meaningless slander?
I know you love me at heart.
There’s everything left for us;
A world of experience to handle.
Take my hand and I’ll show you,
You’ll see a world better than blue.
Get out of my head. You aren’t welcome.

Crawl
Ayn Oct 2021
Stand up or crawl.
Seething pervasive emotion
Burning like an open wound.
Sores and pains erupt throughout
But life’s tenacity carries you forth.
Your mind is blazingly empty;
Save one thought: the end goal.
The pain threatens to corrupt you more,
But your burning strive fends off its toll.

There’s nothing left but the finale;
A desire so strong, nothing else remains.
A scream of intense vitality;
Silencing the waves; soothing the pains.

Glistening Stone Oceans
Ayn Oct 2021
Within a single moment
An overflow of deterioration
Causes time to stop and ponder;
A single instance in time
where all that exists is inverted
and silence finally reigns once more.

Pervasive Echoes
Ayn Oct 2021
A sheer slate of industry,
broken by the melodic ridges.
Echoing the smallest whispers,
and dulling the mind's largest cries,
these walls defy all which seems sane.

Without color,
without shade.
Simple textures
resonate my cadence.

Standing strong and stagnant;
unrefined,
undefined.
This place looks like a prison. The chairs in the lecture hall are literally bolted to the floor.

Like a stone in the ocean,
Or a drop of water
In glistening oil,
A hole begins to fester.

Deep within my core,
The inching shadow grips my fears,
Throwing away my desires,
And beckoning my tears.
I have no title for this. It’s definitely dark. All of my work is at this point. I’m in a tense national competition and today’s the last event. I don’t know know my competitors are doing because I can’t actually see them compete. But based on how well I think I’ve done, I have a chance.

The solitude of the cliffside,
nothing but a sharpened breeze
to comfort the wayfaring soul.
The din of crashing waves
drawing forth a sense of exhaustion.

Thinly layered, I look out from above the precipice.
The biting air just another fact of life.
Looking upwards, the sky uses the clouds as a vest;
a warmth I currently desire,
however exhaustion closes in and I lay down to rest.

A lash of autumn wind slices at the skin,
a gentle yet firm reminder of nature's harsh personality.
With the whip arises a spray of icy water,
Its bleak gray sheen housing an unparalleled vibrancy.

The drifting tides churn in wonder and expectation,
bringing this once still and silent slate
to a monochromatic spectrum.

Vapors stand in strands,
Left to stain the sky.
Showing like an open wound,
Left behind by the wind’s talons.
Bleak and gray,
They insist on remaining;
Watching me fray;
Watching my silent decay.

Among life’s bountiful fruit,
The silent world is absolute.

A Thought Among Others
Ayn Oct 2021
An unspoken concept
Drifts through the air,
As if carried by the silent wind;
Her delicate touch
Disintegrating the stagnant air,
Bringing fresh life into the world.

After a moment of silence,
I pull my keys from their hiding pocket.
Their jingle, too, touched by the spirit.

Turning away from the cliff,
The screaming call of the void
Turns to a deafening silence;
The world is quiet once again,
And so is he.

Like a solitary tree in a silent plain
Awaiting the blight; the everlasting rain.
Life has come and gone;
The span of a second
With the grace of a swan
Like a shrouded mosaic

A picture is formed
Of a concrete world,
Built on the fragile sands of time.

Misted Reflections
Ayn Sep 2021
Under a dead mid morning sky,
I welcome your eternity
My time has long since drifted by;
Just a glimmer in the river.

A fleeting sparrow’s gentle breath
Bringing life to the air again.
In your silence, I stand once more;
A quiet child, looking for light.

My light, my wonder, lead the way.
Or are you just another moon;
Casting false light from the shadows?
All the lines have 8 syllables i think

The Call of the Void
Ayn Sep 2021
Holding onto the mirror,
Gazing beyond the snake.

A silently welcoming venom;
Burning the once eternal ice,
Freeing me from your cold gaze.

Wincing, teary-eyed stars,
Whisper their silencing fears.
These sunset guardians, up in tears,
From being beyond the sidelines
For all these years.
Acknowledge the snake, but remember the stars are always watching over you. They may not seem close but that doesn’t mean they don’t care.

Relapse
Ayn Sep 2021
The ringing in my veins
courses through my aching body,
Like a rampant child;
Reckless and unrestrained.

It calls to me,
screaming for my attention,
to once again feel my ‘love;’
My dedication.

I can only deny such crawling advances,
And feel my yearning spirit cry.
Eventually I will break,
That will be the day I hide.
I tried it just a bit today, don’t get mad, I didn’t bleed at all, you can’t even call it a scratch. I just couldn’t stand not doing it. It was getting to me. I wanted to so badly i couldn’t resist. I’m sorry but the runs aren’t working anymore. I promise i can be safe.

Glass
Ayn Aug 2021
On the other side,
you draw your life
Into its drowning existence.
You’re wielding a failed red thread,
Hoping the needle is sharp enough
To run your troubles through.

I watch in fear and worry,
As you become a stumbling mess.
This wall of glass
shattering into my veins
Whenever i make that first step.

I can’t remove what you’ve built.
I’m afraid of what you’ll do.
I’m sorry. It’s my fault you’re this way. Nothing can repay a ruined life besides another. I wish you a wonderful life, Aasiyah. I hope I’m less of a villain in the next one. I’m being truthful here, I know you never want to see me again and I’m not sure if you’ll read this, but I’m sorry for all my lies, my ****, my lust. I know i was the one who came out unscathed. Unfair, right? I’ll make it fair. Don’t expect to hear from me again.

With the muted walls.

Then burn it through the floor.

Glimmering reflections…
Dancing like the winter’s edge.

Do we really know
Where our soul shall go
After we decide to die,
And let our phantasm fly?

Or do we cry
After another futile try?
And do those who pass us by
Suffer through the same lie?
It’s been a while, or has it? Depends on your viewpoint. From a house fly’s viewpoint, they’d have died and rebirthed several times since my last work lol

You are the bleach searing my eyes,
The blade entering my veins,
The truth behind my silver lies,
And the silent screams of my pains.

Necessary but unwanted…
Or was it wanted but unnecessary?
Now it’s just a still ballroom, long haunted.
Ghosts and specters dominate the ferry.

Once a burning memory
Now a fading sheet of music.
Silence carries no remedy,
Besides the voice of your mimic.

You broke through my inaudible screams,
Now you linger amongst my deepest dreams.
This goes all over the place, doesn’t it? I wrote it last night then passed out while writing the note. For context, the speaker is talking to the writer.

Within shining walls,
He lies on opulence.
If only time was kind enough
To let him lie forever.

In the end,
He has to stand.
In the end,
Time beckons forgetfulness.
There’s a bit of a double entente in this poem. It came in naturally at first, but I probably forced it in at the end. The riches suggested by opulence are riches of the mind, otherwise known as knowledge. That’s why the last line is what it is.
