Elexer Nov 2016
Heels, wheels
Rotten banana peels

Tides and rides
Poking your insides

Lids and vids
Talk of future kids

A deep sleep
The tv lawyer creep

Blown, thrown
A moan unknown

Kick your socks off
In your sleep
We'll get them in the morning
They're yours to keep
How much i love you
I've repeatedly sworn
This is your day Mausi
The day you were born
11/16

Missing May
May has many days of fun
Of siblings and cousins
Parents and children
May comes with those lovely
May flowers
Every year we wait upon May
May certainly brings the family together
There was never a may or may not
May always meant togetherness
The kids have their summer vacation
May brings some hot Sun
But it’s worth it with all the fun
Ice creams and shakes
With the entire family
Never alone
May brings the happiest memories
Memories of childhood
Summer vacations spent
At maternal grandparents‘ home
With most loved and now missed,
Crazy cousins
Madness and never ending fun
Watching back to back movies on the VCR
Until Nani(maternal grandma) came and simply switched off the TV
And ask us all to come out and join her at the dining table, coz it’s time for lunch
As none of us would budge from the mini home theatre we would make with the
room dark and cold
Sometimes we would watch horror movies and then later scared, none would leave the room alone
By evening we all looked like zombies
When we came out of the house to play
squinting eyes in the mellow, evening sun
There are innumerable memories of our visit to the beach
With our most lovely Mausi( Mother’s sister), all packed in the car, the driver would drive us straight to our most loved place, The Juhu beach
Making sandcastles and running on the beach and jumping into the waves, close to the shore
The  humid weather and the salty ocean air and sand sticking to the skin
We would eat those yummy chaat and ice creams
Yes those were the days from childhood
Forever etched in the heart and cherished
Those memories
Today in the lockdown with my lovely family of four( two boys, my spouse & me)
I reminisce
This is a raw unedited piece
This time of the year, we are generally at my mother’s place in my hometown( summer vacations for the kids)
This year owing to the pandemic we are in a lockdown
