Lovebugs
M Feb 2014
They're flying around now
and I'm on 2% so
I need to write this one fast-
Maybe, these lovebugs
are what's spreading this, along with
the quickening of the heart inside
with the warmth
And maybe if I catch enough lovebugs
I won't have to love you anymore.
Or maybe, just maybe,
if you catch a lovebug,
you'll love me, and I can keep loving you,
just like I always have.

Selective mates.
Bugs' unconcern manifests;
Eagles dwindle, die.

Lovebugs
Craig Verlin Sep 2015
It is love bug season again in Florida,
where they flock to the windshields
of the world to die by the dozens.
I wince at each small pop,
cringe at the light going out
as life comes and goes
so quickly, again again again...

Love like life is fickle,
love like life is cold--
even here in warm Florida summers--
Even here, where the bugs flock
at ninety miles an hour
down this dark stretch of I-75.
Coming to love, coming to live,
sweeping out into the street,
pop, pop, pop.
wrong place, wrong time.
again again again...

sunday
first day of spring
The world may start to come alive
Before in coffee shops viewed the world as gray
Now we hear the birds sing, wedding bells ring, queen bees that sting,
Wellspring
Shaking off winter chills and enter springtime blues
Here comes the sun
The hills with vivid colors and lovebugs and crazy daisies
Kids running crazy
Screaming, water guns
The weather becomes lazy
And starts looking hazy

Snowing
                leaves in May
    astray,
the leaves
               in the breeze
                                    weave;
blowing the dead
               of winter away.
    The pine-needles,
              boughs, in precess
precede, indeed the Dance in May.

Lovebugs
            lead the Bur ****
- in trance-
            squalls
from mockingbirds enhance
      the sweet Ballet of May.

Butterflies
            pass the Alms Tray
in hands
of  ants and flies and sand-
to the congregation of
              honey bees
   and hummingbirds
              who await-
the Yellow Rose's bouquet.

I, so admire y’all !!! Be great y’all! ❤️
I thank God for the people and places that bring me peace no matter what else is going on around me. This year has proven to be challenging in a multitude of ways, but I've maintained my peace despite it all. I've had to learn to channel my inner peace when people and situations challenge me to do otherwise. And when all else fails, I close my eyes and return here in joyful anticipation of returning once again. Keeping peace and love in my heart!
