she was a fiery soul
emotions spilled out of her cup
like a bittersweet wine
an aftertaste of tears
salty as the sea rushing beneath me
heartfelt as the lonely moonrise
burning like the hearth of home remembered vivid but far
inviting you back from your cold journeys
the faceless sea's of humanity's wanderlust
from the dark romances of uncaring hearts
feel your heartbeat thunder in the stillness
hearing your tear ravaged breathing
as you struggle to find solace in sleep
her words carried on the thick air remembered vivid but far
like swans floating on the still waters of childhood
like images my heart paints when
her electric touch torches my soul
she leaves a wake of silence and
appreciative eyes behind her drifting the worlds ways
she comes to my bed now
slips into my cold sheets
and with lips forsworn to her fiery tongue's wicked ways
and crafts a bird from blood and bone
a flightless swan that will forever be companion to
to my seasong
moonrise comes with a silence
that my heart can never greet with joy

seasong
mark john junor Mar 2016
the rapture of a souls song plays out inside the mind
as she sits quietly reading in a late fall moonlight
trading the falling leaves for the keys to the kingdom of pain
she scours the printed page for flaws to crow about in the dawn
but she fails to see the falling tears and the raging snowstorm
she feels but refuses to see
all our childhood dreams lined up as toy soldiers
on a battlefield of right and wrong
of love and despair
with one absent minded finger dancing in her hair
she fumbles for the meanings in the steady rain
she feels out the sentences written in summer skies
the novella there in between the covers are the story she reads
but its the long silence in the room between two people
that shapes her fate
writes her tears
the rapture of souls song plays out
with a beautiful melody
and such heartfelt lyrics
but no beautiful song lasts forever
anywhere but in the heart
and her song still plays for me

The sun lies down to die
The void exists, my kingdom never came
These hallowed hands, they bear no sword
I turn my scarred back in shame

To shade these monsters from the light
The choir of undeserving life
Avenged the hand that feeds
And spat back all the seeds
We were all ignorant it’s true

And to this vile earth, only shells remain
Carved and gutted with nether enclosure
A vacuum crown with an existenceless mane
Tiredly playing the façade of composure

To satisfy terrified anti-erosion
The disciples of mine were sent into sleep
And the rest were all charmed with seasong so deep
From the bottomless, black, black ocean

The tears I shed for his glory undead
Wrenched and torn from my soul and his gold and the ghost
And the trifling lies living lachrymose lives
And the soul-stolen dead dug a ditch for their tread
In a futile fervor my cold causeless cries sound:
I have failed you God.
I have failed you so valiantly
