Hey mom

I remember how you made life fun despite the consequences
Everyday life became an adventure
And every bad time just a passing treasure

Leave a message after the beep

That was what the phone used to say when you were away and money was tight,

I would pretend you were there and talk anyways,

Because a girl without her mom
Gives her rainy days.
