She runs to the sink
The glass falls from her hand
The fragile stem shatters as it reaches the sink bottom

She's looks in horror
Tries to pick up the pieces
Glass fills her mouth
She coughs trying to spit out the shards
Groping inside her mouth to pull out the pieces

She turns to tell him she can't get it out
He doesn't see what's wrong
She's frantic thinking she'll never speak
The glass is starting to fall down her throat
As she's gasps for the last bits of air

she wakes up

Maybe if I close my eyes
Wish this away
I'll be somewhere new
A place I was meant to be

Slipping into routine
The tug of responsibility
The need to be accomplished
It clouds what might be destiny

Am I dreaming?
Going to wake up someday
I'll be the one I want to be
The one that loves herself

Waiting on tomorrow

It's nothing,
No, it's something.
Nagging and pulling,
Prodding with its insistence.
Distracting me,
Making me turn my attention to it.
"Surely not" I said.
It continued.
Bothered by it,
I decided to listen.
Wondering,
"How can this be?"
I've known him for so long,
But he's been a friend.
A good friend,
One who doesn't hurt you.
But I suppose that's why,
That's why I can't focus.
That's why I'm distracted,
Because I'm in love with him.

Take me farther than the paved road, the picket fences, the shallow ponds.
I need the earth, the sky, the ocean.

It's a vast unknown with every possible way to be known if you only reach and grasp it.

Teach me the ways of the natives, giving in to truth and beauty. Feeling the tug at their minds telling them this is how to live.

Walk barefoot in the weeds growing between the trees. Leap over the creek bed running away with pieces of the river. Try out a little earthing.

Feel the peace in the mountains for they stand with reverence. Taste the sweet nectar of the honeysuckle. Play in the swaying grass of the west.

Connect to earth and sky and water. Breath

Laying back, taking breaths, slowly sinking, feeling alive
It's only this, a time of creating, making moments last forever
Life depends on living, going and doing, noticing the moments
Making time, bending rules, not just surviving, giving in to living
Basking in moments, showing the feeling, never doing nothing
This, oh this, can be living

Sliding down the banister to find the tiles of an empty floor
Seeing you're not there again just makes my heart long for you even more
I know that I will meet you soon, but until then I'm yearning here for you
To say I can't wait one more day, is just a shot way down into the blue

Cause someday I'll find what my heart's looking for
