the world is fast succumbing
to the left's ideal
for no other has a more
universial appeal

throngs and throngs of people
can't resist the left's message
as it is possessed of the strongest
kind of carriage

shortly the right side shall be
completely obsolete
for no one will be requiring
its once time honoured concrete

the left's take over is rapidly
taking place
and as it does we'll have it staring
us directly in the face

on gaining entry to
the Whitehouse's
accommodation
the now president found Obama's
past policy
presentation

he's reprised the Obama
plan in a replica
fashion
and has even adopted Obama's
acolytes with an abundance of
passion

there's no doubt about
the emcumbent's
credentials
they sure bear a striking resemblance
to Obama's copycat
stencils

due to my dictionary
wandering about
there will be no words
for me to spout

the dash thing took
a hike out of here
where it ventured
to isn't too clear

should I not locate it
within the week
the outlook for writing
shall be bleak

I can't understand
why it left me
there was no logical
reason for it to flee

if anyone sees
a Collins Dictionary
wandering in a field
near your locality

let it know that its
owner wants it back
all will be forgiven if it gets
on the homeward  track

it will be full steam
ahead at this place
when my word reference
shows its face

You’ve been moved two tiers, eh?
Underfoot you feel a table
And you are, for them
You had been a diminutive seat, but
Have been hereby promoted to ottoman.
A fire hazard you may present at present
But a greater gift to weary walkers than an
Ottoman, there is yet to be.
Count your cushions, and your lucky stars
Will find you warmed by heated sitters
‘Til around comes a professor
A second scolding to deliver
And an ottoman to demote
To lowly seat.

old forms will never go out of fashion
if poets keep scribing them onto the page
there's timelessness in their long staying stage
as seen by writers who hold a passion
tonight one reprises the sonnet's stock
bringing past master back for a re-run
so readers twill enjoy couplets of fun
e'en including some lines that shall rock
let not tradition fade on the paper
tis said things of age can be new again
yesteryears vogue showing its surviving
well into a modern era's draper
penning the craft of the lasting refrain
whereby we'll see them always reviving

we were utterly surprised
on seeing her face
there wasn't a wrinkle present
on its surface space

yet only six months ago
her dial was looking quite the age
it is possible that a plastic surgeon
had refreshed her crumpled page

the cosmetic enhancements
did work a treat
everything about her visage
was pressed exceptionally neat

now she's a woman
of a most desirable profile
that will make men
spiritedly wink and smile

he dreams
of having complete
control
he dreams
of the mightiest
toll
he dreams
of being the influential
bloke
he dreams
of a domineering
spoke

he dreams
and he dreams
in wild
infatuation
he dreams
and he dreams
with such a lasting
fixation

what he dreams
will never
materialize
as his dreaming
isn't of a humble
size
