Ghazal
12 am
Choose a profound song,
Play it on repeat,
Study feverishly while the song plays.
Go away, Sleep!

2 am
Let the song still play on,
Guiding your thoughts to the very deep,
Telling your heart that the night's
Too young still, to sleep.

4 am
The loop is never-ending,
Mind numbed by racing at top speed,
Yet thoughts and memories charge on,
Musically gnawing away your sleep

The birds have awoken now**
Nothing feels real anymore,
Life/love/promises-you want none to keep,
As soon as you "Stop" the haunting music,
Realising again tonight, that all that matters, actually,
Is a beautiful Sleep.

"They ******* up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

But they were ****** up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.

Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don't have any kids yourself."

Phillip Larkin (1922 – 1985)

A force, strong enough to create an uproar,
but not enough to snap the strings,
exerted itself on either side of my head
asserted something with vigor,
in its attempt to break open the temples gates.

Temples, are named inappropriately so,
for a place that lacks peace and purity.

I fought the force, bravely, but to no avail
I'd realized, fighting it only makes it stronger.
thence I stopped fighting,
Instead, I let it smash the ice-like coolness of mind,
even if it caused tremors and quakes all over.

Now I've let go of the stubbornness that ice inherits,
Now I've turned into water.
Now the blows are rendered meaningless,
Now they drown or float,
And now, I dance a slow dance with a softly sailing boat.

But alas, this peaceful war is still on,
I am still learning to be still,
I am learning to become invincible
By turning into vapor at will.

She responds to everything that touches her,
and touches her not.

With an inviting liveliness and a scary vulnerability
Like a newly ripen fruit, like a silent lake

She waits to be devoured,
she waits to be dived into.

Sitting in this dark room, with my eyes closed
I feel a world,
the feeling is so lively, so beguiling, as this world slowly unfolds

Its a world where people don’t talk, but sing
Where people don’t walk but hop
Where people don’t fight for the spotlight
Where people greet each other with ringa-ringa-roses

Where bruises are cured by gentle fondles,
Where people cry laughing,
Where everybody is a proven man,
Where everybody is a lovely woman,
Where nobody fights with his own friend trying to win over him in his fight for the first
Where ego is only as real as satan,
Where god is seen and felt in every human being
Where money is just a piece of paper
Where religion is music and dance
Where peace is filled in air and is felt in every breath
Where strangers dance and sing together,
Where heart breaks are as sinful as ******
Where school is a place to learn what is life about
Where the teacher teaches how to live it fully
Where we are one with the universe and universe is one with us
Where one is no different from two and two is no different from three
And zero is as high as one-not-four
