We think different yet feel alike
With emotions running high
We often dream and wonder but never reach for the sky
With God's approval we hike, for the most wondorous gift of all
Love and affection because it's better than them all

With one sealed kiss a thousand words can be spoken
Laughter, Rejoice and Freedom
and no rules to be broken
With a gift comes the love and we often wonder if love's true
Wonder who they love, wonder if it's you

We feel the need to sacrifice whatever that we can
If it truly helps, helps to understand
the pain and hardships and ways of running courses
You feel like you're turning in a bed of thorns and roses

Hearts are carousels
they make you feel dizzy
At ups and downs, and every corner
They're always so busy
Love is great
Don't let it grace you
with it's leave at all
Trees will bloom with love
And flower petals will fall.

The leaves scuttle across my windshield
Whispering “it’s coming, it’s coming,”
As if to say, the autumn of life is here
The delusion that this place, this time
Is all we ever wanted -
This delusion, this prison,
It’s dying.

My desire for these familiar,
Insufficient feelings
Is floating away on the groaning wind.
The earth moans in its shadowed captivity,
Tossing, turning, waiting.

The leaves pile up on the ground,
Decaying
Preparing the way

They whisper “it’s coming, it’s coming,”
And out of the musty death push
Burgeoning tendrils
Of the greenest green
Of liberation
Of new birth
Of redemption

These, the mere intimations
Of the exquisite bright of the
Summer sun

They whisper “it’s coming, it’s coming,”
And I hear the trees, the birds, the very clouds
Hold their breath in expectation
I too, watch the skies
For Freedom is very near

I do not want to rise to my feet.
But there’s no snooze button on a child.
Rise. Shine. Sleep. Repeat.

This place is a ******* mess.
I tidy up while she watches Dora explore;
I do not like being on my feet.

I brew four cups of Maxwell House
and check the mirror to make sure I look alive.
Rise. Shine? Sleep. Repeat.

Into the car and off to the sitter’s.
She and I dance to pop songs on the radio.
Upon the car’s pedals, I tap my feet.

I drop her off and drive to work where
I drop off hot plates to hungry guests.
Rise. Shine. Sleep. Repeat.

I pick her up, go home, and cook dinner;
then bath time, bed time, homework.
Will I ever feel stable on my feet?
Rise. Shine. Sleep. Repeat.
Ocean's
flowing currents
wash over me
with blue noise.
Burning waves
tangle my hair.
Salt *****
my skin,
making my nerves
raw and singing.
The dark sea
saddens me
with it's
cold caress.
Oh, Sadness come,
Wash over me!
Spewing like-waves
of the Deep, blue Sea

Oh, Darkness, come;
Cascade, velvet Light.
Rise behind the Moon,
Eye of the Night:

Luna of August,
Cast thy blue Rays!
My old friend, Darkness
For to Light up the way,

Death: the Chariot,
Emerge from the *****!
Urge thy black Steeds,
to the Silver Shore.

To the Sun in the Cornflower Meadow
above:
course the veins of the Heart
who truly knows
Love

etchings into wax
dripping time away
illuminating our surroundings
to an ever greater horizon
the sands of time
slowly ticking
like precious moments
and relaxed breaths
will soon die out

flickering, flickering flame
burning and exhausting
we need to be able
to see our limitations
our flaws
to be able to
get past them
we must not
beat them into
submission
nor ignore
and deny that
they are us
as we are them

they do not speak our language
so how can we expect them
to react
to react as desired
to play the shadows
on the wall
slowly melting
slowly burning away
as we sit
here contemplating
this existence
we call life

I write about love, I hope to understand it someday.
