Sometime this spring, when all
the cobwebs have been dusted,
and all the cold and dampness
has gone away, I'll sit on my
front porch and watch the lazy
clouds go by.

Sometime this spring, when there
are no more dreary days, 0r long
and silent lingering nights,
I'll sweep my front porch and
sit so grand in my rocking chair
and stare and howl at the
sumptuous moon.

Sometime this spring, I'll hold
my child in my loving arms,
and will stroke her hair and whisper
to her about all the adventures to come,
and dream and fill her head and heart
with all the joy that nature brings.

Sometime this spring.

I'm made of broken bones,
intricate schemes,
bang my head about dreams
I never had the time to dream.

I'm moving while being stuck,
I'm the nuttiest rotten nut,
get my head away with a six packs
in my one pack,

like Pacman
the leaderboard's my crack,
my mind trapped
in a one-too-many bedrooms flat,

I find the time to fly
away from broken expectations,
dream about vacation
from my self-amputation,

raging frustration running through my veins,
I look calm, but I'm about to blow this up,
I have no future,
hand with no palm, soul been ******,

I move away from the crowd,
I'ma just observe,
It's a scene I've already seen,
nothing's ever my concern.

I'm in the quiet
and I appreciate the sound,
it's the noise of all that I lost,
and the big nothing that I've found.

Got a great view out dollar store glasses,
2 bottles in the jacket front pocket,
one filled with water from the creek,
the other half full of fresh saffron dandelion tea,

keeping the stash box neat and clean,
right under the nose
dollar bill to quarters,
feel at home with a castle and a queen
surrounded by brick hoarders,

made of arcade architecture
built from the outside in,
eyes of aged plexiglass,
A and B buttons
mashed and cracked
melted and molded back
to skin, around Mario’s I-beams
turned to an animated skeleton,

heartbeats like ‘beep beeps’,
brain like a 256 Pac-Man **** screen,
sick with the down-left-back combo spin kick,
used a neat rubber band trick,
high score, top out the leaderboard,
then dipped,

1up for the two dead creps,
holes through the soles
and nothing up the sleeves
but ******* up to the fashion police,
three letters on top
followed numbers that cause shock,

got a great view out dollar store glasses,
and always have quarters when the arcade kid passes

******* do I struggle to write,
truly though- can I call it writing?
when it more reads like text to speech.

this is another one of the unoriginal concepts of
"oh I'm struggling so hard to write"
("pity party" someone calls out in the back)
like I haven't mentioned that one before.

now I know that everyone has those troubles,
but my biggest worry?
is if I ran out of my stock of creativity
(restocking ETA. N/A)

also, man, some of you guys are GOOD.
like Anais? she's a star,
there's no doubting she's on the leaderboard of the greats,
by now she's at least got Kafka beat down a spot or two.

Bogdan Dragos? ******* if there hasn't been a better story teller,
I highly doubt there has, (go buy his book y'all )
patron saints, artificial happiness, and a cat in a warm shoe.
another example of my happy jealousy.

because frankly I'll say that I'm jealous of these two,
because just wow, almost every one of their poems and I get goosebumps.
poetry is magical.
if you can write it =]
I entirely copied Anais Vionets smiley face at the end there.
ZERO shame.

If your name doesn't even
grace the leaderboard
who remembers you?
If you vanish in the night
who will confess they always knew?
Who mourns the fallen tree
no one was there to hear fall?
Who listens against the wind
for the strangled call?

Is immortality within our reach?
If not, who will be here when we're gone?
Listen, because the end is coming.
As sure as the coming dawn.

Can we fool the march of time?
Will a lick of paint make us new?
Will the wondering ever stop?
And if so, what then do we do?

Immaterial concerns, perhaps.
But who here can know forever and ever?
And, look: if we wanna survive this
we're gonna have to do it together.
