heading home to memphis find my roots once more
home sweet home again where i was before
had enough of drifting sofa surfing ways
bars and lots of drinking waking in a haze

head on home again to friends and family
say goodbye to trouble that always followed me
change it all around how it used to be
in my home sweet home in memphis tennesee

settle down for good no longer have to roam
get married raise a family build my self a home
in the place i love that means so much to me

such a lovely song that gave my heart aglow

i sat there and listened to the song he sang to me

it took my breath away as he began to croon
his lovely robin song with such a lovely tune

life it gives us sunshine life it gives us rain
