We are the things that get swept under
rugs. A ***** mass that the world strives to keep
hidden. Flecks of skin and strands of hair. Toe nails. Trapped
in the carpet with the bodies of the bugs
of which we have been bitten.

Gaze not upon our swollen parts;
inflamed. Your eyes will entice us to spread
rashes. The forbidden always in our thoughts
like stubborn mattress stains.

We are the things that live in closed
closets. Tearing at the threads meant to keep you
sheathed. Disembodied torsos on wiry hooks. Scarves. Chewing
holes through the garments with worn-out teeth.

Chills will let you know we're near
as you toss and turn in bed. We are the shadows that
watch you while you sleep. Our goal is to fill you with fear.
Your soul is ours to reap.

Breakup Except

It's a lot like the feeling
One of those times
When he'd not text me
Or call me back for a few days
Except,
This time lasts a lot longer

Like a breakup
Except,
Neither one of us specified a
breaking point

I don't want to move on though
'cause
that means I did it without you

And we do everything together.
We go everywhere together
I'll go anywhere with you

And the clouds in your eyes
The sun in your smile
Your meteorite soul
You've got me forever.
Rest in Paradise

she brings me pancakes and lights me a cigarette
my ***** are cement and icicles form on my toes

she opens the curtain to a dying dove on the balcony
the banks are closed and the stock market has crashed

the periscope lens, so lucidly balanced, has fallen
irreparably into the crypt of a dream

i take a bite of an apple and stare into the mid-morning sun
after bagging the bird, she drapes herself across my chest

she is worshiped like a cradle, or a gravestone in a thunder storm
in her ecstasies, a prism, a poem fits like a glove

as the sunlight warms her ******* she heaves remnants
of last night's whiskey into my adam's apple and it burns me

the words she struck me with still sting in my ears
her fingerprints remain on my back and my bathroom mirror

If you haven't noticed
our generation is failing
Our earth is dying
Doesn't any body understand?
Its all a reflection of us
what the earth feels we will feel
Empty
without true love
the sun is lonely
it burns what drops by
Even our earth turns away from it
what a sad existence for something that gives so much
its warmth holds us up
and we work away its light
and only come out
when the moon shadows the night
women
don't compete
men
don't back away
take what is yours darling
you'll never get another shot
fix me
fix you
please do
lend a hand
be a friend

Love
I don't get the word
its a word to disguise our pain
pain as pleasure
even on entrance
a trick of cancer
*******
risking death
the end of the ******
love may sew temporary wounds
but we are chronic

The belief is free love
in sexuality freedom
its only a myth
because of our duality
one side suffers
as one side grows to yield
one side grows to grow
eruption in the psyche
and the shamans and heroes are gone
our women are now men
and are men are now women
Visions of our future come to me
although, we are better speakers
than we are listeners
so
would
could
one soul make a difference
I could go on forever
but I will someday die
and when I returned to the earth
I expected a lot of change
but I only saw my hard work
twisted by the power people

When someone tells you that they’ll always be there for you,
No matter what happens,
But they end up giving up on you,
And leave just like every other person.

They end up becoming everything they said they wouldn't be,
Everything they said they wouldn't do,
You then wanted to forgive and forget,
But it’s too late because you’re so attached to them and can’t find a way to let go.

The hardest part? It's moving on,
Finding someone who makes you just as happy as that other person,
But you’re scarred for life,
And you can’t trust anyone else.

Chance

I know you saw me as I walked
past by the cafeteria
unlike how I am usually,
I didn't turn my head to look
I know you were hoping I did,
I know.

The reflection in your soul
I can tell you were miserable seeing me
like this, as I am, alone
though I've let you go
with a willing heart
I don't regret a thing;
I still think you're bound to me
you just won't let go.

I want to ask,
do you miss the right side of my figure
where you used to stand?
Your shoulder friction against mine now
the warmth of our friendship
slowly freezing
here I am, a changed soul
telling you to move on,
like I did
not because I wanted to
but because I needed to.

Forgive me if I sound heartless
but you no longer mean anything to me
I was the chance that flew
right in front of your eyes
in slow-motion
you missed it,
you missed me;
so here is my goodbye.
She must have come here in the pouring rain.
In the form of the pouring rain.
Falling down the roof.

Down you hair, if you’re outside. Down your temple, your face. Kissing your skin.

Reaching my skin, draped over my body like a warm blanket…
A wonderful thought.

You may not be aware of that single drop,
but she did kiss your skin before she fell down the pavement.

Like promises on your favourite park bench.

High on Lolipops
Hands shaking, lips trembling,
What exactly do you see?

A spider dangling in your face
Or a witch's broom crackling?

Concealed in a dark, closed room
Or the sound of thunder and lighting?

Zombies eating your brains (if you actually have any),
Or the sinking feeling of dying?

Of all the nightmares in the world,
Which one leaves you shivering?
Horrible, I know. I'm sorry. Will *try* to do a better job next time.
