On old world wings you've come
through ages gracing wilds
In gardens you hover, humming hawk moth
seemingly like a bird
With beating wings you sing to honeyed flower stalks
a proboscis long for drinking up
phlox and penstemon
When the color doesn't suit you, paint it.
When the gray wall doesn't inspire
Paint it a hue with golden sparkles.
When the sky is dark, close your eyes
Imagine streaks of sunshine shimmering
Through the happiest blue.
When your heart is stained black
Only you hold the palette and brush.
With each choice, stroke the gloom away
And paint in the joy.
If the world's colors are too bright
Throw buckets of mud on it
In order to heal the wounds.
For you are the artist of your reality.
If you don't like something,
Pick up a brush and paint it.
Black inked letter,
Words shaking on white paper,
Last line read— farewell.
So
You've found a girl who can hold your gaze
You've found a girl with those sinful curves
that    girl    with the     lips     that you want sayin' your name

Oh she's beautiful alright.  How did you get so lucky?

Maybe you're not as lucky as you think you are?

Does being
luscious, limber, lavacious, and alluringly lustworthy
make up for being
lewd, lethargic, and a lackadaisical liar?

So what that she's
    ogle-worthy, optically pleasing, orgasmically ideal
if she's
    offensive, ostentatiously ornate, and overbearing?

She may be
    vivacious, voluptuous, and sexually voracious
She's also
vain, vapid, vacuous, a vengeful *****

Don't let her
   exotic, ****** efficaciousness
Blind you to her
  egocentric, evasive, envious  nature

Those lips won't look so   enticing   when they're spitting poison barbs into your heart

Wouldn't you rather  have a girl
Who is likeable?
Who is original?
Who is vibrant?

Who is enough to make you happy?

It's all you need

Do I have to spell it out for you?
Trying my hand at a hidden message within the poem, and also putting the thesaurus to work.

Note:  After re-reading, thought I should make myself clear -- This isn't calling out attractive men/women, it's more along the lines of "Looks are great, but if they come at the expense of a good personality, they're worthless."  There are lots of very attractive folks who have fantastic attitudes and are wonderful, lots of average looking folks who are not, and every combination in between.  There. I feel better.
7 billion of us
that’s a lot of mouths
and tummies to fill

You’re a farmer in Drought Land
(
How did I get here?* you ask yourself;
How do you farm dry land? we ask you)
and the weeds grow and your crops die
You need water, water, Hard Rain, plenty of Solid Rain
and the chemical engineer
Velasco of Mexico, he got just that for you
It’s powder, baby –
looks like sugar, honey;
10g of Hard Rain absorbs a Liter of Water
and it’ll stay there on your land for a year at the least

7 billion of us
that’s a lot of mouths
and tummies to fill

it doesn’t evaporate and only the roots can drink it
It’s Hard Rain going to come, baby -
that’s the promise -
it’s Hard Rain on your Dry Land;
it’s absorbent material -
this polymer, yeah baby, it’s called
potassium polyacrylate
and it’s coming to a dry land near you
it’ll lie on your land, and it’ll feed your crops
and you can sell your veggies to me
and that’ll feed me and my family
we’re just too many mouths to feed, you know,
all the 7 billion of us, baby,
on Planet Earth, on Blue Blue Earth

and maybe I’ll buy some Hard Rain myself too
for my own little Eden in my backyard
Oh, it’s Hard Rain, Hard Rain gonna fall on us all, baby
It’s Hard Rain going to come, baby -
that’s the promise
it’s Hard Rain on your Dry Land

*7 billion of us
that’s a lot of mouths
and tummies to fill
(1) This is a "news poem" - based on an article I read online....
(2) Solid Rain, the product described in the poem above, was created by Mexican chemical engineer Sergio Jésus Rico Velasco.
