When I Be Gone
Valentine Mbagu Jul 2016
Counting the naked pregnant seas that I've crossed,
I see the birth of my absence being felt as a wind;
Thoughts of existing like the sun ****** my heart,
When I be gone, let me become an Icon of reckoning.

Upon the absence of my existence, let me become the air
Of all that breathes and lives in the endless ocean of life,
Build me a mountain upon which fruitful rivers shall flow;
When I be gone, let not the sweet memories of me run dry.

Standing on the hills of many waters that I've treaded,
I perceive an incomplete history without the memories of me;
Thoughts of the earth never having enough of me ticks,
When I be gone, let me be the Guardian of the earth.

On the parting presence of my running breath,
Let my exploits be the reason to embrace living;
Engrave my impacts on the sweat of the helpless,
When I be gone, let me become the Hope of the hopeless.

If peradventure the breath of my existence cease to breathe
And my reason for living be not lived to her expected taste,
Let the future generation live to live the shadow of my life;
When I be gone, plant my name as the historic seed of history.
My greatest fear is not having a position to occupy in the pages of history.

Somewhere In Your Heart
Valentine Mbagu Jan 2015
Too late I realized that I've loved you so
Much more that I shouldn't have let you go,
But if only you grant my last request I ask
That you please keep me somewhere in your heart.

As I watched you go, my heart stirred again
Such that deep down my heart, I felt so much pain,
Be-holding my tears like raindrops fall, I gazed back at you
If only I could turn back time, I'd long to build an empire with you.

If you by chance knew I never meant to turn you away
Would you ever come back to me to stay?
Though it hurts, still I hope you grant my request I ask
That always you keep me somewhere in your heart.

I knew I was too blind to know your feelings
Too late I realized that I never found love appealing,
I feel sorry that I made you live in pain
Always I ask that you turn to me again.

Does your heart ever keep my memory in your heart?
I long that you return someday_ again never to part,
If only you'd understand the agony of my bleeding
Return to me, I wait for your love as my healing.

Now I realize how much my heart longs for us together
If you only grant my last request I ask, that you always keep me in your heart forever,
And if you think is not too much to ask
I hope that you keep me somewhere in your heart.

I Heard These Words
Valentine Mbagu May 2016
Lost in the tunnel of suffering and her struggles,
I saw thick darkness in the broad daylight;
Life became worthless and living disdained,
For all hope was lost as I cursed my existence.

I was bitten by the venom of struggle and distress,
For the hope within me seemed hopeless;
Agony and sorrow was my wine and feast,
And I cursed the very kind air I'd breath.

Amidst all this I hoped for a better hope,
I yawned for words to heal my solitude heart;
And I heard these words saying do not be dismayed,
These words I inhaled gave light to my darkness.

As battered, shattered and scattered as I was,
Still I found reason to fight life's poisonous venom;
These words I inhaled healed my heart and struggles,
For within me I saw hope knocking at my door.

Despite the thick darkness, I saw light smiling at me,
Words within me came alive and hope was rekindled;
These words I heard gave me reason to live again,
For life became worth living as I inhaled these words.
Power of positive words. Comfort someone today with your words.

Condemn Me
Valentine Mbagu Nov 2014
Condemn me Lord, for l have eaten the fruit of iniquity
Cast me away, for my heart knows no purity
My mouth have tasted the wine of iniquity.

In the chasing of shadows, l saw vanity
On the wings of pleasures, l saw calamity
My heart has built her walls on vanity.

Condemn me, for I've not departed from iniquity
Merciful Master, will you allow my soul burn in hell till eternity?
My sense have come to it's sense of sensitivity.

May the sins of my fathers push me to depravity
Compassionate Lord, will you allow me bear the burdens of my fathers iniquity?
Pour on me the oil of heavens charity.

Curse my precious a soul to die a nonentity
My Creator, would you rather have me in hell than forgive my acts of iniquity?
At your feet l rather die, than die in my iniquity.

Condemn me, for l am held captive by the dagger of captivity
Loving Master, careth thou not to save me from captivity?
Lord, will you also condemn me for iniquity?

I am a prisoner, doomed for hell till eternity
I am a captive, stabbed with the dagger of captivity
Condemn me, if you will not forgive my deeds of iniquity.

A Mothers Bond
Valentine Mbagu Aug 2014
A Mother's Bond as precious as an emerald's best,
Shines like a diamond pure and crystal fresh,
Her bond shelters the fragility of her children's flesh.
Gracious is the pride of her motherhood blessed,
As she feeds her children with the milk from her breast,
Her love ensures the gentility of her children's rest.

Courageous her womb that carried her children's breathe,
Sagacious the time she spent to nurture them best,
Her arms provides them the safest place in the world's length.
Brave the strength she had to put to birth,
Relief the sigh she had as she brought forth,
Her arms the joy of carrying them felt.

A Mother's Children are her hope, she protects them with great strength,
They are her reason for living, she defends them with such might,
Her bond prevents them  their chances of poor health.
Having them around, gives her reason to live,
Seeing them strong, gives her a sigh of relief,
Her love showered on them feels no grief.

Happiness, radiates her face with smile,
Joy, motivates her to go extra-mile,
Her bond immeasurable keeps them to her side.
A mother's love knows neither small nor great,
From her children she derives her strength,
Her arms lights their darkness at night.

To rest her head, she have no regrets,
Having trained her children to her great taste,
Gracious is the pride of her motherhood blessed.
She dies a fulfilled and a happy death,
Having enjoyed the fruits of her labour at last,
A Mother's Bond is as precious as an emerald's best.
A poem dedicated to MY MOTHER, her bond is as precious as an emerald's best.

And Divinity Rose
Valentine Mbagu Mar 2016
As Jesus wept, his tears were blood,
Agonising in pain as he was tortured;
Yet he was willing to taste the cross.

As he groaned, his pains were bitter,
Showing love for the whole world;
He made himself a sacrificial lamb.

As he wept, his sorrow was heavy,
Dancing to the tune of shame;
He was ready to battle with death.

As he bled, his agony showed love,
Bearing man's suffering and shame;
He cleansed humanity with his blood.

When he died, man tasted freedom,
Having defeated death he rose again;
He now lives and sits on the throne of glory.

Christmas The Season
Valentine Mbagu Dec 2014
Alas it's christmas the season
A special season long awaited for,
A period where celebration booms the season
It's such a complete jubilation to the core.

A beautiful season that is as bright as the risen Christ
A christmas in whose eyes the aura of ecstacy is cherry,
A season of merriment that sprouts a sharing feast
It's a moment that breaths, and causes every heart to merry.

It's christmas the season, its presence calls for sharing
A season where we bond with each other,
A special period that bids all hearts to be caring
It's such a time for peace and harmony together.

A season to show love, with a heart full of compassion
It's a Christmas worth celebrating the life lived,
It leaves an aura of ecstacy and appreciation
A season that harvests the land of every seed.

A Christmas that comes every 25th of December
It's such a season that paints it's air with love,
The season it is to always share and remember
It's a season filled with sharing a love so pure as a dove.

Alas it came, the season we celebrate Christmas
A time where every heart wishes to be merry,
Yet again it's here, always a season to be cherry
Today again and always, l wish every heart a happy Christmas.

The Breathe Of Death
Valentine Mbagu Aug 2014
The warm breathe of death strikes with great might,
Arrow of sorrow seeks her place to ******,
And weariness drops in a rose at night.

This thief in the night knows neither small nor great,
Crawls with stealth, an inevitable defeat,
The warm breathe of death strikes with great might.

Anguish, escalates like fire burning at night,
Grief, like hole dug in the heart,
And weariness drops in a rose at night.

Death is the enemy, she fights with fierce strength,
The undefeated champion, fears neither human nor conquest,
The warm breathe of death strikes with great might.

Brave are the minds who fight the fight,
Wise the souls who prepares the night,
The warm breathe of death strikes with great might.

To rest a flight, a day set apart,
Like an expectant Mother ready to give birth,
The warm breathe of death strikes with great might.

Garden Of Love
Valentine Mbagu Oct 2013
A single red rose
can be my garden.

You and only you
can be my world.

I will want you only
l do it all.

Again and again
this life time and the next.

Even until eternity
you will still be my garden of love.

I am so glad you are my lover
and l am yours forever.

In so many ways
on so many days.

I find only you
shinning forth in my garden of love.

You are my garden of love.

A New Year
Valentine Mbagu Jan 2015
Alas, a year long awaited has unveiled her veil
Her beauty, a flower eager to bloom, to unfold her petal,
Her fragrance, a sweet smelling savour out to prevail
Her pride, a new born that comes with a golden medal.

A dawn of a new year that beams like sunlight
It breaths at a peak that unfolds a feeling of better things ahead,
It's heart beats and dances to the tune of moonlight
Her ego, a new year that surpassed the test of time to tread.

It's a new year that bids the heart of all to rejoice
Her hands extended, reaches out to the heavens above,
It's abundance of rain falls like water with many voice
Her heart a cistern of life, a heart that is as pure as a dove.

An epitome of new history it is, a new year waiting to unfold
It's grain a field so green as green could ever be,
Her feast a taste, a best of new year never untold
A new year it is, that is as fertile as fertility can ever be.

It's a new year, a 2015, a new born
A year that births the pearls and treasures of many Ireland,
Her rhythm a rhyme of music never torn
A new year that rests on the treasures of many land.
