Who is he?

In a tiny church with an overlarge steeple
I opened the doors to see all the people
A little girl stood there and sang about god
and all the sheep stared, shocked and awed
As the tears rolled down her rosy red cheek,
each one symbolizing another week
A week of havoc, pain and circular gain,
we live in a world that knows no blame
I stared at her focusing on innocent eyes,
her naivety made them so big and so wise
She looked at the crowd, they were hungry for more,
she thought of her sister, shunned for being a *****
If we are his children and all loved the same
how come people live life with no name?
How come I have the world in my palms
when girls with my birthday are running from bombs?
Her answers will go unanswered forever,
she will be called a fool for being so clever
Dear god you are supposed to show us the answers,
but our youth sees only society's best cancers
How can a little girl have faith in your craze,
when she sees people hungry, day into days
So you see dear lord I don't really believe,
all these people need to rise up from their knees
Stop praying for someone to change your fate,
and do it yourself, open your own gate
Love thy neighbour and to ones own self be true
but don't do it for him, do it for you.

i’d love to sugar your mouth,
gumdrops a sour lipstick compared to
umami tongue flickering with laughter

your hands are like syrup around mine
and i find it fitting to drown often
infinitely into the parfait puzzle piece.

“i haven’t eaten in days” i breathe on your
face while we forget that the playstation
whines still. “me either” your eyelash falls
on my shoulder and we dine on eachother instead.

Her focus was on the fields of childhood dreams
melting into the sun, while catching grasshopers
playfully she'd dance along
innocence clung to the wisps of her hair
she knew nothing of vanity
only how to find the beauty in the palm of her hand

He came to her from another place
in which he knew so well
and watched her in all her glory and grace
his heart began to fall
and so begins his tales of love
fishing for her song

"You'll learn to love me one day"
he'd say
such an arrogant disreguard
he pulled her away from the field of dreams
and introduced her to the world
estranged she followed blindly into something
so foreign to her

When he finally saw her instead of his reflection
he confessed to what he'd done wrong
and he had grown into a towering tree
from a little shaggy shrub
She touched upon the hot flesh of his cheek
and began to love him from that moment on

For in moments of unbiased honesty like these
even a girl can see a man is born

steel tulips
is what you repeat to me.
But what you are communicating to me
All the I need you to be’s
All the I want you to be’s
All the please baby pleads
All this communicating is key
In reality
Is me changing to be
What you need to see
But what i am not meant to be
And all this communicating is key
Is contridictory to what you believe
Yes. it is a key.
To a door in my heart you have closed
To a brittle locket now froze
Now we sit here in silence
Two islands
In an ocean of pride
And unspoken lies
And I-wish-you-had-tried’s
And i-don’t-want-to-cry’s
And my-hope-has-now-died’s
died
died.
Now our eyes flicker to each other’s faces
Like a candle’s flame thats seen too many places
I hear the air escape from you lungs
And it makes this war endless, that nobody’s won
And I know that you love me;
but I don’t want you to hug me
I want your communicating keys
to just go home
with out me
my first spoken word poem from a few years ago

Everything I wanted
was placed into my lap
and I watched it unfold before me
gift wrapped in black
and my smile began fading
gradually
like some spoiled little twit
The more it began to reveal itself
The more distraught I'd get
"Look! Its just what you've asked for!"
The universe ,
so unbiased and eager to please
as overflowing wishing wells brought me
to my knees
I screamed

"PLEASE JUST TAKE IT BACK!!"
