I want
To prove
That bright
Colors and I
Simply don't
Go well together.

My poems never rhyme,
So you'll never listen.
Wrists sliced
Tears
and sidewalk salty
Snow falling
a pure blanket humbles the city
I am far away from.
My eyes never see
So you'll never exist.

Insatiable appetite.
For all the wrong things.
Who defines right and wrong?
WE DO.
Our perception is our reality..
It is the only reality we know.

Insatiable appetite.
I long to feel something other than a memory.
My today's are filled with memories of yesterday's.
All of my present moments..squashed.
My mind jumps and leaps through fields of
dreams.
A life of the unknown.
An insatiable appetite for what lies ahead.
My sword slowly lifted itself as something within came to life
Striking my pallet leaving you my victim lifeless with a long seeping wound
Trying to keep up with this constant strife
Fighting to escape this brutality that has forever bond

My bloodied blade has spilled enough of your precious essence
Realizing now that you were never meant to be mine
Alas how my feelings could have manifested me into this darkened presence?
Whilst my words shall only lead you to further pine

Tearing from my being the thought of loving you at all,
As injustice is all that is felt from the illusions you drew on the wall.
Solace has been a price my future had to pay
For so was the price of your love, that cast me away

Contorted and mangled by the past that thrives within my ingrate
A second chance you wish won’t now sate my hate

What does one do with a burnt out fire?
The ashes are here, but not desire.
Residual proof of what I once held---
Fleeting:  memories of oaken trees felled.
Brother collectors, whose work is complete
taste it akin to me; something unique:
The fact is collections (like my heart, whole)
have all the components, save for that hole
left by the fury, drive and frustration
Requisite for our very creation.
Second fact is wholesome hearts freed of greed,
Unfettered by love, (the great earthly need!)
Have no direction or key to the map
So listlessly wonder with toe a-tap.
Completed soul, with perfect attention:
buying cars perfected  without engine.

A world stand together for a small country
Seeks in to a similar state of consciousness
Peace and love will once again win
Because if we put ourselves down we forget to celebrate
Celebrate that we are not cowardly and weak
That we are stronger when we have experienced loss
Celebrate that we are still here for each other
Preserve and hug so that we can make a change
Helping the lost ones and remove their pain
And show that we all have love in our hearts

During the war, I was in China.
Every night we blew the world to hell.
The sky was purple and yellow
like his favorite shirt.

I was in India once
on the Ganges in a tourist boat.
There were soldiers,
some women with parasols.
A dead body floated  by
going in the opposite direction.
My son likes this story
and requests it each year at Thanksgiving.

When he was twelve,
there was an accident.
He almost went blind.
For three weeks he lay in the hospital,
his eyes bandaged.
He did not like visitors,
but if they came
he'd silently hold their hand as they talked.

Small attentions
are all he requires.
Tell him you never saw anyone
so adept
at parallel parking.

Still, your life will not be easy.
Just look in the drawer where he keeps his socks.
Nothing matches.  And what's the turtle shell
doing there, or the map of the moon,
or the surgeon's plastic model of a take-apart heart?

You must understand --
he doesn't see the world clearly.
Once he screamed, "The woods are on fire!"
when it was only a blue cloud of insects
lifting from the trees.

But he's a good boy.
He likes to kiss
and be kissed.
I remember mornings
he would wake me, stroking my whiskers
and kissing my hand.

He'll tell you -- and it's true --
he prefers the green of your eyes
to all the green life
of heaven and earth.
