I want to sit next to you
Listening to you, talk about your day
I want to hold your hand
Sitting on the couch
Stay
past our bedtime
Watching our favorite movies
Or we can talk all night—
I can tell you all of my fears
And you can tell me all your insecurities
I want to cook your favorite dinner,
You can play your guitar
and
be the entertainer.
We can have a perfect candlelight date
Under the starry sky
At our favorite spot
But I can't do any of these...
Can I?
Because you're already gone.
Gone so far away
I feel like a castaway
You can't even hear me
Can you?
Because if you did
You could have heard the screams
Of my hollowed-out dreams
You can't even see me
Can you?
Because if you did
You could have seen me drowning
In this ocean of despair.
If you were here,
You would have come running—
And maybe held me in your arms.
But you can't do that
Can you?
So I am out here, sitting
Under the beautiful starry sky
At our favorite spot
But nothing can be as beautiful
As our first kiss… or the last one.
Even the light of a thousand stars
Can’t make up for the absence
Of my lost star.
They can’t fill this empty space
Next to me
They can’t stop me
From thinking about you.
They can’t stop me from feeling
Like I’ve lost a part of my soul
Can they?
Neither me,
Nor you,
Nor these **** stars
Can do anything...
Can we?
