Poetry is the gateway to my healing
as eyes are the window to the soul
I don't tell anyone I write poetry because I like feeling like I can write without judgment.
she prays the rosary
giving her much needed comfort and peace
in these days of trying times

far more than cross and beads
to her pleasure they are there to keep
close to God, in heart and mind

she prays on bended knee
a discomfort it seems but certainly
the pain helps to remind

nothing in life is ever easy
but rest assured the comfort we need
is in knowing Jesus Christ
I'm not Catholic and have never prayed the rosary but can certainly understand it's usage when focusing on drawing nearer to God
Beneath the covers at night,
when I am alone. Past scrolling,
and all the other things that present
themselves for distraction. I find
sometimes that I am lonely, and long
for a companionship that is elusive,
even now. A likeness that calls to like.

I am aware of time, these days.
I hope in time, we will
find ourselves together, more
and more often.
When I type your name, my computer auto-completes,
As if it understands how I feel,
And already knows what I want to see.

The stars
The dark
The silence
The empty streets
The night

While I dance in the cold
Music taking me over
All of them
In their wonder
Are on my side
