Marriage counseling. Friend events
week nights confused unused a ****.
I'm passed off to a shrink for bents.

He sees me in a panic and then ******.
Non addictive friend for 15 numb years
guilt controlled by my shield from sin.
We had carte blanche **** without fears.

You are finally facing
my demons left behind.
I am now facing yours
to whom I've been blind.

You drank too much sorrow
choke in sleep by tomorrow
overnight we had a fight
you took your final flight.

Just a clever weaver of words,
not a poet really just pretend.
I smoke and drink like geniuses
and chase my fame to its end.

We're 2 peas in a pod.
Twins almost but
you're a cat and I'm
just your servant. Bill.
You have sacred routines
as do I. You **** in sand
and I scoop it into a bag.
You reserve affection
for those who deserve it.
You have one eye. I have two.
We see the same good and
bad and touch our hearts.

I'd like to be considered
a '***** Old Man' until further notice,
unless I have a stroke or die or worse
vote for Woodrow Wilson again!

Life isn't precious. It's comical.
It's a wonder the human race is
still here. We're addicted to any
thing that makes us high enough
to escape the dreary life we live.
We **** everything. We put ****
in our veins for a minute of peace.
We die to escape loneliness finally.

I hope we did you proud.

  no connection with the living

  another dame in some dive bar

  conquests without a heart.

Poets are the liberating gods.
Closer to truth and lies and
every **** bent thought we
ever had that shames us until
it's in a poem to set us free to
break the chain we hold onto.

I sold my soul for a woman before.
  I turned my back on love for lust,
  a black heart tarnished white knight.
  I want you so badly now. I can't trust
  wild haired beauty singing from rocky
  shores drawing me closer every night.
  I'm no saint. I've starved for years and
  smell your feast hungering for a taste.  
  I feel death's cold breath on my neck
  my body shrinking, skin like paste.
  I'm old and set in ways like stone.
Lie with me naked. I won't die alone.

I lost you in my chaos
some hurricane attitude.
I've felt the sacred loss
inside painful solitude.
I look for you everyday
in the out of way places
we always seemed to stay
searching all our spaces.

The clock on my wall
   ticks seconds of time
   loud but never gone.
   Wedding band removed
   easy no mark. Single
   on the prowl tonight
   vampire hunts lovers
   tender necks to ****.

Chess pieces off the board.
Playing in the park in shade
of oaks dropping Fall's leaves.
They lie stiff under sheets in
foreign fields loved ones won't
recognize in tears and sobs and
prayers of despair to a deaf God.
Death ends the games tonight.

Sometimes a poem
I write scares me
with its honesty
I never share.
Truth bleeds
from my eyes
into the poem's
sun that I stare.

War's soldiers never the same
boys looking for adventure.
Rough stranger my son's name
comes home an angry warrior.

We build the steel cathedrals miles high
  in the middle of the great cities. We dance
  on girders among the clouds driving white
  hot rivets into iron. We fear no man.
  When that whistle blows we scurry to our
  Bar. Brothers, we raise glasses to martyrs
  who fell that brief time to their honor.
  We toast more each day and pray and pray.
  We keep rabbit foot and four leaf clover
  and holy water and pennies in the poor box.

pretend to know our afflictions
catalogued with treatments.
Our despair is hope in hopeless
shadows cast from burning bushes.

The Floyd, *******,
brought my soul to surface
I finally felt home again
sit and rest from a rat race.
I've been mad for years
swim against the tide
ocean drinks my tears
I find your coves to hide.

Boys play at growing up and shaving.
     Girls bleed into the women we desire.
     I smelled you bee to honey a craving
     you set my little world a madman fire
     Love a solemn hymn on the black keys
     in church before humanity we swear
     kneeling on painful wood on knees
     have hold better worse hospice care.

Climb down off your cross
never mind your loss
stay in the moment with us
guilt is so **** useless.
Love while you still can
embrace her understand

I'm lost in the brevity of life,
the lack of depth in a mirror
that seems to go on forever.
I don't understand how I can
be so consumed when we ****
but come back to life after.

I look for me from childhood
for a starting point on my map.
All I see are vast empty echoes
where laughter should be heard
but silence reigns supreme. You're
my touchstone and I'm still lost.

Pretend to be perfect. A Masquerade.
  Age and pounds of flesh will betray.
  We all pour through the hourglass
  swallow anything keep truth at bay.

I'll live a century and we'll all fly.  
I've broken many hearts; mostly mine.
  Let's meet in a Cabaret on Venus and
  Share our dearest sins one more time.

Truth is poison.
This monster's
back in town.
Stay away from
my door. Don't come
around here no more.
Shut the windows down.
Poison is truth.

Falling in love is wonderful.
Staying in love is impossible.

Just trust the bomb, America.
  We can burn cities into ash
  **** the weirdos not like us
  build democracy from the trash.
  Plant the red white and blue
  in all the loser's graveyards
  protect our sacred glory with
  jackbooted well armed guards.

Huge golden retriever runt of litter
chasing ***** just not his thing.
He chases squirrels they disappear
in terror of the conquering king.

I do not think there's any time
to worry of End times rhyme
or Eve's betrayal of raw greed.
Lucifer planted her ugly seed.

A long hair bearded man sits on a toilet
reading poetry by Whitman and Frost
and Auden and Elliot and Dylan Thomas.
He works night shift as a janitor in
1956 and the beats are screaming for truth.
He saw the best minds crawling
through the city streets at dawn
looking for an angry shot of speed.
He wrote truth on Howl's page
plant the ugly seeds of rage.
A Bible for the changing Age
sings his hymn on a sacred stage.

I always set the table
even as we starve
potatoes' blight
extinguish light
black in coffins
ordered flight.

some seek solace in their Bible
some search inside their poems
those desiring death's release
will take its flight no matter
I hope they find a perfect dark
where all is none. eternal sleep
no more panic attacks or fear
of the wicked clown in closets
or teachers who **** us and we
like it but shouldn't. but we do.

I heard about this all my life.
It existed like Easter Bunny
or winning the lottery
or time versus infinity.
I knew it would come
as night meets the sun.

We exchange our vows
blindfolded hostages
shotgun wedding crows
wedding bed a birdcage.
Never more to carouse
pregnant bride of mine
we rent our tiny house
play at marriage time.

It's ugly as mortal sin
as we crawl to our end.
Bette clued me in.
Blood thin as vapor
skin parchment paper
toothless beauty queen
we were so beautiful.
We sing this Hymn.

A full moon
boiling spoon
needle's rush
Van Gogh brush
a starry night
Angel's Flight.

I'm aching naked

  of our kitchen
  I found my new soulmate
  I'm leaving you and the kids
  to write poetry with poets.

  a broken fist I put in your wall

to answering  machines.

The body is buried
the life lived carried
to dumpster on a street
trash the shell's defeat.

Save the truth from extinction
write what bought cowards fear
don't sell your souls for silver
keep your loved ones near
eyes always on North Star.
Slay dragons with a poem.
Word warriors fight together
Never slay dragons alone.

we are makers
we are breakers
we are gods
we are undertakers
we are eggs and fakers
we lie at the wedding

I always run away from home
threatening to die alone a ******
in a ******* world of Hefner
in the heartland of the winter.
I want a tropical island with
mermaids beckoning my love.

Hear the mother's mute
  screams from a waiting room
  the ***** villain with flask
  his baby being forced into
  life is not heard until she's
  born into blinding light a
  world of mistakes forgotten
  on his lonely wedding bed.

You held my hand tight to never disappear
   below the white ocean falling from the sky
   full of white horses and ice castles and princes
   you'd dream of that night. I keep you safe now.
   I won't always be there. Spring comes. You grow.
   You meet your prince and white horses prance off
   with your coach to your castle and my ice gets so
   thin I fall into my own cold dream in your heart.

Can I stop the treason?
No I **** in cross winds
no sense of solid reason
fallout buries my friends.

Born in a coal mine town
rarely up mostly down
into a dead cold hell
make a living in a well.

Live or die a tick of time
every life worth a dime
cries of help from a mime
all birth and death a crime.

Delivered from womb to light
blinded by the sun in flight
nobody has an actual face
in this white empty space.

Our Father who gave us life
and takes it away, why bother?
We invented absurd stories and
built religions with our clenched
angry fists shaking to the heavens
cursing you for cruelty. You kick
puppys and drown kittens and make
us to amuse you gods as we die in
your cancer and weak hearts and car
wrecks and broken heart suicides and
despair in war's gas showers and
no man's land waiting to be shot.
Aids, Covid, influenza, plague or
just old age thins the ****** herd.
