Kryptonite
I thought that I was invincible
Breaking hearts without caution or yield
But I wasn’t going to fall in love, no
Not with my love deflection shield
Every time I felt myself fallen, I’d search
The depths of love so profound
I’d put the brakes on and skid to a stop
And I’d just turn myself around
But as fate would have it somehow, like
With fall the color of the leaves change
The law of averages would take love
And put it on center stage
Every time you would come near
I found it difficult to see and speak
I’d feel my stomach turning and I’d
Lose my strength and my knees got weak
That’s when I knew what it was like to
Be Superman with his Super Human Might
And I realized that I didn’t stand a chance
Because I knew you were my Kryptonite
