Change

Like a clock on the wall changes time
Like a caterpillar changes to a butterfly
Like night turns to day, everything
Changes, sometimes in the blink of an eye

Everything used to be cut and dry
Boy or girl and right or wrong
But now it’s all so confusing
Like trying to learn to play Mahjong

I’m not here to judge or condemn
That is for the fool
It’s just that I’m of a different time
And all I know is old school

In my mind a woman is a woman
And she dresses appropriately
And a man is a man and when they
Are together the difference is plain to see

So forgive me me if I smirk
And if I find it odd and strange
I’m not trying to be mean and cruel
It’s just difficult to accept the change

The Thieves That Steal Your Happiness

    You can be happy
I know that it’s true
And I know being happy
Is better than being blue

Sometimes life can be bad to you or
There’s darkness from your past
These are moments that come and go
No need to make them last

Find a reason to smile
And never look back
Always get back up after being knocked
Down from a surprise attack

When bad things happen you
Gotta find a way to let it go
You can take it from me
I tell you it’s something that I know

Bad things can become a darkness
They can destroy you with their craftiness
Don’t let this or your past become the
Thieves that steal your happiness

Time Has Come Again

    It was many years ago
In a forgotten time and place
But now there’s an echo of what was
And it’s something we must face

Frightening as it may be
What is written shall be done
The world has chosen its path
The web has been spun

The ancient words were written
The story has been told
The sacrifice was made but still
Our love is for gold

So here we are today
Our lesson we’ve yet to learn
We’ve dismissed it as a fairytale
All the while Hell’s fire continues to burn

God is speaking loudly and still ignored
He will reclaim his domain
He said he will return and soon we’ll
Know time has come again

Looking For Bigfoot In All The Wrong Places

   I’ve looked under the bed
And I’ve looked in the closet too
I’ve searched in the man cave
And even in the Loo

I’ve checked the state house
And I’ve looked at the town hall
I’ve been to the bowling alley
And even the food court at the Mall

But there’s no signs of him anywhere
He’s an illusive creature to say the least
And I’m not really sure that I’m
Prepared to meet such a big hairy beast

But people swear they’ve seen him
Someone said he was down by the Lake
But when the witness was questioned
It turns out he was drunk and his story a fake

I’ll keep searching for him among
The strange and familiar faces
But I’m beginning to think that I’m
Looking for Bigfoot in all the wrong places

The Woman He Never Met

They say there’s someone for everyone
But finding them is harder than it seems
His perfect woman was everything
But she was only a woman in his dreams

He talked about her with passion
She was the sparkle in his eyes
She was the reason for his smile
But his smile was just a disguise

He had a passion for music beyond compare
He had tickets to every show
Sometimes his friends would tag along
But not once did a woman ever go

Somewhere out there is a woman
Searching for someone to hold her hand
Someone she can cry on, someone to
Comfort her and someone to understand

But he died in his apartment all alone
He’s seen his last earthly sunset
And she may have been the one but now
She’s just the woman he never met

Another poem in memory of my
Friend Paul —R.I.P.

My Friend Paul

My words will never truly express
And I really don’t know how to begin
My heart aches and I’m numb inside
Yet it’s only the tip of what I feel within

I’m a firm believer in nothing is by chance
But we may never know the reason why
And I hate talking about this in past tense
Because it hurts to say goodbye

If he hadn’t worn a KISS shirt
We might not have talked to each other
But he did that day we met and
To me he became like a brother

We went to several concerts together
We had so many good times over the years
Now he’s gone and I’m in shock
And I’m fighting back the tears

His favorite band was Rush but he also
Loved KISS and so much more
His passion for music was beyond compare
And his heart was never a closed door

He was a man of God and when I think about
Him only the good times I will recall
And whenever I hear Rush or KISS
I’ll smile and remember my friend Paul

The Power Of The Cross

The world can hit me again and again
It can hit me with everything its got
The Devil can burn me with his fire
With a fire of the hottest of hot

He can put me in the center of the
Darkness of a permanent night
And I will focus on Jesus and I will
To my faith hold on tight

It’s a different world now
In more ways than one
Some say the end is near
Soon we’ll all be gone

I’m just a man trying to survive
As this old world spins
When everyone thinks it’s a competition
I’ve got news, nobody wins

You can have this world and your greed
Go ahead and focus on your profit and loss
I’ll just sit back and relax and I’ll focus
On my Faith and the power of the cross
