it has been many decades
and as our memory fades
those who spilled
blood, sweat, tears,
coming trembling to us
with fear
For our grandparents
our family, our kids
we must cease, halt, stop
this maddened killing
We must remember
Those who fought
'till the eleventh November
Lest they are forgot
For the blood spilled from their bodies
and the tears they shed
dripped down their lifeless arm
drip drop drip drop drip drop
down to the bullet-ridden soil
and deep inside the ground
with the warmth of our only earth
sprouted a small tree
It is global peace
young, fragile and delicate
bent around, thrashed about
but still, carefully, standing tall
Let us water this tree
not with our blood and tears
but with our clear clean water
Let us reinvigorate our globe
with hope
not hell
this was my application poem :D
