left alone
     I drift
          into helplessness
my potential
     turning in
          grating
               struggle

The knock at the door
     breaks the spell
          and I can begin
               again

This is a Poem
   It is quite a thing
Wandering amongst the lilies
   Pondering life's sting

I stand next to a leaf
A simple manifestation
Billions of years
Trial and error
Evolution outcompeting entropy
The promise of a future
When I open my eyes
I can see

Trust is rare
In this world of trauma
Expediency valued
Above all else

Everything becomes story
A woven tapestry
Meant to deceive
Meant to divide

This must end
One way or another
In transcendence
Or annihilation

How many among us
Will be left to witness
The new age
The age of trust

A simple change
A choice
Starting a new path
Off the tracks of inevitability
A new journey of discovery

in the first place
there is I
the I is am
and it is all

in the second place
there is heart
bringing shape texture
and context to being

in the third place
there is mind
spinning story creating want
and now there is never enough

trapped by illusion
the borders immutable
back and forth
without escape

if only i could see
the bigger picture
the border but a frame
to hold the illusion

change my frame of reference
and i am free

What is the magical essence
That imbues paper plastic metal
And numbers glowing on a screen
With the ability
To manifest our heart's desire

An idea
A story
Respected by all
Lorded over by mages
In crystal spires

Once you know the game
You can rig it in your favor
And believe you are somehow better
For doing so

You matter more
You are entitled to more

But your self worth
Is inflated by emptiness
And in the end
It will all collapse into nothing

If you claim nothing
Then everything is yours

Gliding gently
Across a serene landscape
All is effortless
All is true

To breathe
Is to transform

sounds sights and scents
a symphony of sublime sensations

and yet my mind spins on
   blunt and cold
       oblivious to
the abounding beauty of creation

subtle moments
   gently forming
kernels of joy
effervescence
   awakening
   tickling
bringing me
   into the now

These Words
why do they convey meaning
how do these shapes create story
while others do not

What is the Spell I fall under
where I see visions
and gain new understandings
what seed of intent is needed
to create this Magic

Pure beams of light
Radiating evenly
In all directions
Giving reliably
Unconditionally
Without question
Of need or merit
True abundance
For us all

the gentle caress
of gentle thoughts
opening the way
to create in the light

always hungry
never satisfied
a world without respite

walls closing in
nowhere to turn
unable to call for help

the lonely life
of being alone
unshared burdens overwhelm

a prison of the mind
comprehensive
complete

how to escape
when my jailer
knows my every move

i say
embrace the jailer
befriend him
know him
as he knows you

for in the end
all is One

Moving from glow to flow
   my purpose now clear
I embrace the lapping surf
   the slow decay
Of things past their usefulness

knowing Entropy
   Has a partner
equal and opposite
   Creating stars and galaxies
planets and oceans
   The seed of Life
within us all
   Gently glowing

All abuzz and aglow
i grasp at a future
knowing it is better
   to let go

a pause
a reset
finding space to be
connecting to
   the essence of me

Open expanse
Spreading out before me
   Feeding my soul

No barriers
Just a choice
Which way
   Do I choose to go

Wrong
What a concept
The idea
Something is not as it should be
Rather than accepting
It is as it is

The wind at my back
Moving forward
   seems effortless
Each moment
   one breath at a time

The azure of freedom
Set against ***** limestone
Joys and responsibilities of life

Each beautiful
Part of a whole
Separate and inseparable

   walking down
Medium Way
   i am unconscious
lost in the Clouds

   rather than Choosing
i pay no notice
   as i am Nudged
this way and that
   only to be Surprised
when i arrive
   at an unintended Destination

though the puppetMasters’
   prompts and prods
      are Subtle
their schemes of World *******
   are Not
      and i
but a Grain of sand
   in their grand Design

i wonder the Consequences
   when I choose to break Step
   and Venture past the surf
into a Different world
One less traveled

releasing all
choosing to own nothing
   but this Moment

it will soon pass
but hopefully
   another will Follow

on the open sea
having slipped the moorings
a long time ago
waves and clouds
the only horizon

adrift
   alone
is a safe harbor even real anymore
   or is the only future
waves and Storms

Dreaming about a future
One of love and joy
Spreading out
Infecting all of humanity

Stepping out of uncertainty
Claiming creativity
Embracing the power I have
To dream a new reality

If the function of the mind
Is to create story
Then why do so many
Attempt to use it
To discern truth

What does this moment bring
Who ordained it
   and what can I learn

All good questions
   that miss the point entirely
For questions lead to story
And this moment has none

It is as I am

The sound of surf
Sets a crisp contrast
   to the calm that surrounds me

Conscious of emerging modalities
Spawning lyrical lines
   into the cacophony of life
I take this moment forward
   sensing who I am

Clawing at reality
Trying to get a grasp
How can I
   be relevant
      Today

With memories
We create stories
   the framework of our lives

All too often
   these frameworks
Become solid walls
Blocking out the light

Clinging to memories of joy
As if they define me
Leaving me blind to
Each joyous moment since

Plugging away
Searching for
   that which counts
Expanding my consciousness
Step by step
To fill the vacuum
   of my potential

Water
   alive with nature's power
Nourishing
Delighting
Creating boundary

With a simple act
Washing the world clean

As roadblocks present
   I find I must adapt
Dissolve myself
   to flow like water
Choosing to shape
   my destiny

Held hopeless by my past
Everything is struggle
Each breath a labor
Each thought a thorn

And yet I endure
Underneath it all
I am stronger
A survivor

Somewhere deep down
I know
This too shall pass

Several key ideas collide
   fracturing
As the concepts crumble
Something new is born

Bright and shiny
Lit from within
A gift
To light the way

A flowering of consciousness
Which direction will it grow
How many blossoms
Capturing the light
Sharing the beauty
For all to see

If the function of the mind
   is to create story
Then why do so many
   attempt to use it
To discern truth

Moments like these
When my mind opens
Ideas range free
Anything goes
Everything is possible

Casting off the anchors of my past
I let the wind take me
   whither it will
Me at the bow
Eager to discover new lands

Knowing the unknowable
A paradox of responsibility

Moving forward
   step by step
Finding the flow
   in each moment
A breath
   and gratitude
The fundamentals

Choice is my power
To shape the world

In the void
I see
Graduated steps
From every direction
Rising up to me

Why does it seem
I am
At the center of
This universe

The echo chamber of
My mind
Operates
On this premise

My soul
Rejects the idea
And searches for
The holistic view

Finding the space
To create abundance
I resist the temptation
To keep it for myself

In the belief
A shared blessing
Is a blessing multiplied
I pay it forward

Dreaming about a future
A pandemic of love and joy
Spreading out
Infecting all of humanity

Seriously sad
Trapped in a moment
Set upon a barren table
Nothing to see for miles

Nothing to do
But go deeper
Sometimes the only way out
Is through

Grasping at the edges of reality
My mind an explosion of possibility
Overwhelmed and enthused simultaneously

Searching for true fidelity
Praying it will all be revelatory
Knocking on the door of destiny

Opening all avenues to abundance

Nested in a select place
Feeling secure
Enjoying this moment

Letting the calm
Wash away the emotions
Shedding the past
Like an unneeded skin

Emerging
Clean and fresh
Into a new day

Awaken dear child
Open your eyes
Lift the veil
See the world for what it is

Few people will tell you the truth
Not because they wish to deceive
But know
   their eyes are clouded
   and their ears muffled

The world we live in
Favors stories and beliefs
Community harmony
Groupthink above all

If they don’t know you as friend
They are quick to brand you enemy
Survival patterns
From a distant past

Tell them
I have no wish to eat you
Your inner divinity shines
As does mine

Wracked with guilt
Stories telling me
   you're not good enough
   you're not kind enough
   you're not patient enough
   you're not enough
Leaving a huge hole

In this hollow state
A shell of a human
   i float
Adrift on the currents of life

Not knowing
   where to tether
Not knowing
   how to choose
   my landfall
Which filling station
   to trust

I take tentative steps
   guarded
   aloof
Not willing to risk
What is left
Of my humanity

The carnage in my wake
The cascading consequences

I look for catharsis in the trauma

Hoping to make peace
   with the past
Probing for purpose
   in each moment
Seeking out
   soothing music
   for the troubled soul

I try to let go
   of the judgments
And surrender
   to the now
