A SWEET VIGHNA HARTA... A CHOCOLATE GANESHJI

1..Can we please make a chocolate Ganeshji n dissolve him in milk, giving chocolate milk shake as prasad, kids will love this.

2.. Make a Mawa (with mithai, ladoo or peda) Ganeshji... A Sweet, flavoured one, dissolve in milk again n serve as prasad

3.. A mud one can be put into an earthen ***,  dipped in water n flowers or plants grown there.

4.. Made from fruits n vegetables, will look very attractive, can dip in water n then served as prashad.

5.. cooked rice n dal (dried) moulded into a Ganesha can  then be diluted n served as prashad too.

After all, our body, in these years, has to many  burdens bear.

As our vehicles we painstakingly clean and care;
Let us our own mind and body to our vehicle compare.

Hence, let us this  very sentiment for our body also share.

Have plenty of water, cool but not cold, from an earthen ***.

Try to have greenery around; n this fresh air breathe, so your lungs don't rot.

Eat plenty of vegetables daily n add fruits to this lot.

Because of  our vices, our mind and body has to suffer.

An alcoholic destroys his liver; n   ruins his lungs, a puffer.

A drug addict abuses it; and we obese people have fat as buffer.

Docs, commercial have become, ever ready to a spare part change.

To get quick money, these days, doctors have a real long range.

To avoid this, look after yourself; as Bawajis, look after their vehicle.

મન પાછું બહુ વિચલિત છે, જોજે ઓ ખુદા, અજુગતું કાંઈક ન થાય

સ્વપ્ન હતું ડરાવનું, કીધી છે મને બેબાખલી, બેચેન; જોજે કાંઈ બૂરું નહીં થાય

ઉઠી તેવીજ બંદગી કરી તને, કર જોડી; ઓ દાદાર, મારી શ્રદ્ધા પર આં વહેમ હાવી ન થાય.

સ્વપ્નમાં જોયું મારી લાલ બંગડી નથી તો તરત નજર ગયી બીજા હાથ પર

ત્યાં પણ એ ન જોતા, વિચલિત થયું મન મારું, મનમાં પેઠો એક અજ્ઞાત ડર, અસર થઈ મન પર

વિનંતી કરી ખરાં મનથી, શ્રદ્ધા જીતે, વહેમ હારે, આફત ન આવે કોઈબી મારા વર પર.

પણ થોડા દિવસોમાંજ તબિયત એની લથડી, પડ્યો મને ધ્રાસકો, માથી અસર થઈ એની ઉપર

હોસ્પિટલમાં ડોક્ટરે કહ્યું, છે એ ક્રિટિકલ, આં સાંભળી ચિત્ત મારું, થયું સાવ વિચલિત

કહી ન હતી આં સ્વપ્નવાલી હકીકત ઘરમાં કોઈને કે રખેને થાય મારી જેમ બધાં વિચલિત

હવે અશાંત મનમાં ન દબાવી શકતાં કહેવું પડ્યું બધાને ઘરમાં; ત્યારે બધાં થયાં વિચલિત

બહુ બંદગી કરી દુઆઓ માંગી બધાંએ, પણ લાગી ન એ કારગત,"પ્લીઝ જોજે ખુદા મારા"

મનમાં પેસી ગયેલો વહેમ હવે થવા લાગ્યો મુજપર હાવી, અસર થઈ મનમસ્તીશક પર મારા

હમબંદગીઓ થઇ, નિજી તો હતીજ જારી, પણ અસર ન પડી કાંઈ એની, વર પર મારા

ઓ ખુદા, સ્વપ્ન આપતો નહીં કોઈને આવાં બિહામણા, દહેશત હોય છે એવા સ્વપ્નોની તન-મન પર ભારી

લાગવા માંડ્યું હવે મને, આવવાની છે આફત કોઈ ભીષણ, બહુ જ ગંભીર અને ભારી

આખરે હું હારી, સધાવીયો એ દાદાર ની દાદઘામાં, સરોશની પનાહમાં, જીતી ગઈ બીમારી, એ ભારી.

ON MOTHER'S DAY

From Heavens above, my maid Dahi, was a wonderful gift I got.

What's unconditional love, by practising it; she easily us taught.

Bathed me, combed my hair and even bands for me, bought.

Climb trees she would; and fruits like gauva n custard-apple for me she got.

Or from her own money, green mangoes n berries for me, she bought.

Remember I, feasting on baked dry bombay-ducks n rotla, for me she brought.

From our garden big, collect she would, my favorite "bor" berries n got.

To protect my pet hens n their eggs, with others, she actually fought.

On the way, carrying me over puddles; what love was, me she taught.

For me she would warm food, because I would enjoy it hot.

Many times my Mom remark would, before your arrival, excited she got.

Bless her O Lord in Heaven, n her keep in Your arms. For this gift, I thank You a lot.

Know we all, honey is indeed very sweet; but my Lataji's voice was even sweeter than honey

In fact the sweetest voice on our planet was her's; exchange it India wouldn't for loads of money.

Every year, I sent you a poem on your Prabhu Kunj address; this time, I am confused, absolutely clueless

But offer you my devotion, reverence n love; requesting Maa Sarasvati, to you bless.

Pleased and happy will be the Gods n Goddesses to have our nightingale up there, with them;

For what more can one wish for, when with them, they have the Kohinoor, a precious most gem.

Ever dearest Grandma, Leena and Arlene, my most beloved people from the city of Niagara falls

Every single day, through all these years, remember you I, at all daybreaks n as each night falls

Come Easter, and gush those  beautiful warm n tender memories; it's then we  desperately miss you all.

This relationship so deep n loving, is from some life past, or it would not have into our life, ever occur

These incidences rare,  happen do not in one's daily life; they are predestined n do not often reoccur.

Anyone, who so ever has heard our story, would about this, most definitely authenticate, validate and concur.

It's almost a miracle the way we met; it was of course the Lord's plan; and definitely not just a mere coincidence

Our shivering in that bitter cold, Leena's passing by, our requesting a lift; her taking us around the falls, was a miraculous incidence.

Then meeting dearest Grandma;  her instantaneously loving n cuddling us, n above all, in her life, giving us precedence

Endless was the showering of love, gifts, blessings n beautiful compliments, it deeply touched my heart

Of her huge joint-family of seventy-two, turning it to seventy-five, making us now an important part.

Thank you dearest Grandma, Leena n Arlene for the immense love and joy you gave us. We shall always endearingly carry it in our hearts

બનાવતાં હતાં મારું તન મન તાજુ અને ઉજાગર.

કુદરત નું સાનિધ્ય છે અતિ સુંદર અને અદભુત;

સાંજ ઢળતાં, ચંદ્ર ઉગિયો સોળે શણગાર સજી પ્રસર્યું અમૃત.

AGE SPARES NONE

A bamboo shoot I was, towering, upright n straight.

Now a creeper I have become, pitiful is my state !

Support I need to even sit up, stand or walk.

Bones in old age brittle become, like chalk.

Brisk was my walk; stumble n fumble I today.

Orifices weak become, know we all; not much to say !

A face radiant with a luring smile, now many wrinkles has

That slim lithe body is now filled with water n gas.

We drastically change; time and  age spare none.

If climb I do two storeys; a marathon I have won.

Sad it is, from a lush green bamboo awesome;

to a withering creeper, seeking support, become.

Difficulties come suddenly, with a bang; in a gang.

Taken aback we are, as that poisonous serpent raises his fang.

This afternoon was an ordinary one, cooly I sang.

A little discomfort, a little dyspnea, a bell of alarm rang !

Then the doc said very grave is the problem, failing is his heart.

Now in ICCU admitted he is, n anxiously I await his recovery.

Ahura please bless my dearest hubby with a long healthy n happy life.

As such, we all know that life is full of strife;

So all my dear readers, friends n near n  dear ones pray for my Hubby please do.

Pray for Vispi's recovery quick; for miracles happen do.

Darling, now between us there is an opaque soundproof thick grey curtain

People now seem fed up when I remember something n speak about you

"You live in the past", is the allegation they make; "yes I do"; is my answer ;

I agree I have to all over again learn to live without you; guide me, how do I this do?

HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY

India, Her Independence n Republic status achieved, after years of slavery

Even today, our Armed forces protect our borders courageously n bravely

But sadly we citizens treat them shabbily, not taking their sacrifices n dedication gravely

God, awaken our sleepy souls soon; so that we appreciate the great work of our Armed forces

Mandatory should be a training in the army; ministers n beurocrates their children send must for defence academy-courses

Let us look up to them; and respect every soldier, who dedicatedly serves our Nation; his life risking

Salute I, every Jawan, every officer, who this protection unto us gives, his family's happiness risking.

IF I WERE A MINISTER

If I were a minister, all grants I would immediately discontinue; as this increases laziness.
Instead there would be schemes introduced to build lakes, canals, bridges, and revive, regenerate n grow gardens n FORESTS.

Instead of increasing caste n creed difference, I would promote poor students, who are clever to study by giving free special coaching; but they would have to sign a bond n serve our country. No Quota System should exist as it brings down the standard of our Country, n makes people feel low or high ( discrimination increases)

I would abolish private schools who take donations n tution system I would most certainly, definitely abolish. Deserving students would be given extra coaching with utmost care.

Doctors, Nurses, Engineers should be inculcated to be dedicated, this can happen only when the donation menace ( vice) stops totally.

Every healthy citizen would have to serve the Armed forces compulsorily for 2 years... Every Minister's child included.

I would see that our soldiers would get due respect; after all, they protect us.

The list is rather long, but I would  do all the above on priority basis.

On a date,  I went out, with my beloved Bawa

He took me out to eat  Khaja made of pure "mawa"

Alongside we had pina colada; as "daru-dawa".

Then went to Marine Drive; not for a drive, only "chaalta, farva"

Knelt down he and requested me to him "warva".

Now my  beloved Bawa n I are going, to a house  "shodhva".

Afraid he is, I won't marry him, "to lagyo e jiv  barva"

Quickly I said, "aapare ek bija maate chhaiye taiyaar marvaa"

So now, whether BPP gives us a house or not, we are ready to each other

Decided we have to, soon as possible, "lagan karvaa".

Bombay Meri Hei

O city of many peoples dream, o my beloved Bombay

Aamchi Mumbai miss you I do so very much, in many a way.

For enjoyed I did my childhood there, you were my very own Bombay

Along with you, now gone is the love n warmth of my parents, whom I miss every single day.

My school, college n Hosp. friends, shared with whom I have many a cherished day

Your splendid buildings, monuments lure me; of them what can I say !

Also I miss the Paak Atash Behrams n Agiyaris where we went to pray.

Those yummy eating joints; ah! Sooooo many; long is the list, tempt me like shiny golden hay

Every foodiie's stomach n heart in those varied joints lies, this emphatically I do say

My Af, took us out for treats many, and would never allow us to pay

Family picnics we had umpteen; Juhu n Aaksa Beach mention I must,  where games many we did play

Remember I, how every New Year's eve, to those lovely lilting numbers, all night we did sway

O beautiful beloved Bombay, even now my head and heart in you does lie, that's all I can say.

MANGO, THE KING OF FRUITS & HAFOOS/ALPHANSO  IS THE EMPEROR.

Sweet as sugar,  luscious, with a mouth watering taste n flavour; are insufficient words, to a Mango describe;

Sometimes tangy, sometimes sour, but when ripe, often sweet as sugar; can't describe a Mango aptly, this scribe.

As kids, we were often, this offered, as a reward/award or you may say, a lucrative bribe.

Summers scare most of us in the tropics; but jackfruit and mangoes lure us beyond this unbearable heat;

ANYTHING KAREGAA FOR AN EENDAA

From early childhood, we Parsis survive hardly can, without an "eenda"

We can hardly, without our eenda in some form or the other, remain "Jinda"

Love we an egg over almost anything, papeta, kheema, vengna-nu-bhartu or bhinda.

Arre! we Parsis often prefer our eenda over delicious sweets, like daar ni pori or a "penda"

Poro, akoori are staple diet in a Parsi household, without which our life is like a "mindaa"

Our passion for these "eendas" actually creates either jealousy, "teeka" or "neendaa"

Whatever be the reason, a Parsi Bawaji almost cannot live without his favourite "EENDAA"

Fuzzy Darling,

Indeed our best friend you are; n Zoish specially loves you

Freyu of Zoish's love for Fuzzy is jealous a wee bit;

So he teases Zoish, saying marry him you will, when you grow up

Amused he is about the kids if it happens; whether they will pups be or human?

Fuzzy, the kids have gone nuts over you and your cute lovable antics

Amuse them, you very much do, with your silly funny tactics

Your sense of smell, "wah wah ustaad", you know we are there from far away

Your wagging so inviting is; but your dangerous bark, a vagabond can shoo away

Without you Fuzzy, life so mundane would be, you are the reason we love to home rush

Cuddle you, tickle you, ****** you, even squeeze you whilst your fur we brush.

Love you we do, but know we, you love us a lot more; very high is the ratio n your score.

TO LIVE IN THAT BOMBAY

To live in Bombay was so much fun, wonderful  memories of those days have I .

To see it in this state shabby, with poverty around makes me  cry !

Today there are only people n slums plenty; sores to a beauty loving eye.

Interested in humans are few; people wish to only trade, things sell n buy.

This wasn't what my Bombay used to be; to the place, I would love to fly

It holds memories so many, of childhood; those I wish to hold, till the very day I die

My home, filled with the love of my parents, on  whose laps, even today, I would love to lie

Memories of my favourite aunts, uncles, cousins, friends with vibrations warm; make me cry!

Wish people clear would a slum colony n a lake build; then my Bombay wouldn't be so  dry.

Its greenery destroying are its own keepers,  ***** it is without sweepers; I sigh !

Wake up Mumbaikars, my Bombayites; make it clean, green n serene, to you, plead I.

If rich, you may buy a huge properly,  an island or a mall;

Or a grave illness, perhaps try to stall;

But a smile on a sad face you can't install

My Lil Miss Masseuse.

Thaaaaank you Zoish.

Hot and uncomfortable I was, so my lil masseuse gave me an ice massage.

Hot and humid it was, so she comforted me with an ice pack large.

Lil Ms Masseuse, my feet into cold water, tenderly dipped;

And cool water applied all over my body; also some I sipped.

Suddenly the sweltering heat reduced n things were not too bad.

In all my life, this was undoubtedly the best massage I ever had.

With her love and tenderness, the strokes so caressing were;

For this, with great pride, award I the Nobel prize in Massaging, to her.

Want to share a rare experience with you friends,  to tell you what love does....
My  Kaki,  (Dad's best friend's wife) was  suffering from alzheimer's. She had  forgotten even names of her family members except her youngest son's.

We were very closely knit; and Kaki n Kaka  loved me dearly. They often visited me whenever I  went home to visit my family. I too visited them  each time I went to  Bombay.

Then Kaka left us for his Heavenly abode. Kaki's health slowly deteriorated. It  was  pathetic to  see her  staring at everyone like a stranger. It was heart breaking.

On  one of my visits to  Bombay, my Bhabhi n I were visiting her.  Only her grand daughter n maid were there.  I  gave her a warm hug n sat across trying to revive old memories.  Suddenly   she  got up,  came across n kissed me.  Everyone including me was shocked. I just couldn't believe what had happened. It was a thing, least expected !!!
This  proves that love helps everyone, including people who have a memory loss.

We shouldn't give up easily,  keep  loving them and showing them they are precious and important.
Even today after years, I  feel that warmth.  It was an event that reiterated my  belief in love.

EASTER

Celebrates Easter, all around, the entire Christian world, on this auspicious day.

Kiddos enjoy the Easter baskets, eggs n Bunnies , in every corner curled, happy n gay!!!

For us it is a very very special day, it's memory with us will always, forever stay.

An icy cold day at Niagara Falls it was, in 1984; when we couldn't keep the cold at bay;

I impulsively requested a lift and met Leena and Grandma on this very special day.

Took us she around the falls, almost into Canada n to Grandma see, on the way.

Dropping us at our motel, after a sumptuous Italian meal, at a posh restaurant, she went away;  

Only to surprise us with a big Easter Bunny n basket, n gifts many; as in our room we lay.

At the desk, cancelled she the taxi booked; n back came early morning,  bright n gay

She first home drove us and with gifts umpteen loaded us; Santa on an Easter Monday !!!

At Buffalo airport, dropped us she when; overwhelmed we were and didn't even know, what to say

We thought never would we meet them ; never would we be able to come back, to see them some day !!!

But a relationship strong grew, letters n gifts lovingly exchanged we; visited them we did, one day.

Lovingly, a good morning n night I wish her, every morning n night, even today;

May in Heaven happy they remain; our dearest Grandma, Leena n Arlene I pray.

His subordinates many, adored him; because, to pressure he did not cave

This Hero, towards the road to victory against Pakistan, India did pave

A soldier to the core, to fight Her enemies, was always at the fore

Noble towards the defeated, he treated them well, goes a lore.

Undaunted he stood upright even when politicians tried to settle a score

Their shameful behavior he tolerated; for he was a soldier to the core.

When APJ visited him at the hospital, and helped solve the salary dispute

Sam regretted, he couldn't, the President of India salute

Charmed he many, including APJ, with his  behavior peculiar n  astute

Remember I each time before I switch on n switch off the light;

That day, three hundred and twenty nine precious, hopeful, innocent lives we lost

Passengers and crew all; an aircraft entire; unaccountable, was the cost

O Ahura bless those souls and their families to this irreparable loss bear.

Even today, sad I feel when visualize I, those crying relatives; their hope mixed with that scare.

What a drastic, horrible result it was, due to some people who were grossly mislead.

Happens this often, when illogical, lies, fear and hatred to weak minded people is fed.

Those who do these crimes heinous, prepared must be, for consequences dire

Burn have to in hell, all those people who misuse and play with ammunition and fire.

The theory of KARMA,  understand must, these misled individuals; use they must their mind.

Aware must be all those leaders, who inculcate such crimes n vulnerable poor find.
