and in
the sighs of
your day,

and the
quiet
whispers
of your
morning
awakening,

when stars
dance above
you and
last nights
dream
puzzle pieces
still move
and scatter
through
your mind.

my dreams
reach out
to you

and whisper
back to
you
with open
heart and
gentle
certainty

I am
here.

and we could
not be closer
if we
were stars
upon black,

and our
light was
for all of
the universe
to see...

nothing unsaid
naked
slumbers and
love  that
bends to
around the
moon and
back....

There is
a rapture
in your
eyes,

that takes
away
everything
else,

and then
makes
everything
else new
again.

there is a
familiarity
in your
face that
greets me,

like the
breaking
open
of a
poppy
flower
in a
fall field,

and the
moment
that it is
experienced,

it is
never
forgotten,

it is
to be
held
only once

and then
it is
gone.

I am
the dreamer
of such
things
of nature

of you.

and you
illuminate
my life
which
such beautiful
things

that I
am a child
to walk
your fields

I am
a child

amongst
your
stars.

and for
that I am
truly

grateful.

And your
heart seeps out
into the
ground.

only to
be buried
cold by
this moment.

buried by
all of the
fragments of
news and
pieces of
you,

loves won
loves lost.
love never
given,

love never
received.

and in
this tragic
glimpse of
time,

now
you must
face the
honesty
of you.

standing on
a breach
of echos
of times
that you thought
you heard
I love you,

and then
you almost
answered
"I love you
back".

and now
with this
sickness that
questions
and grips
our very
lives,

thank God I
I know that
I am exactly
where I
was meant
to be.

and I love
my wife
like a

it is that
way with
all of
you.

you gave

laughed

will always

moment
do my
dreams not

as I have
buried
you in

and our
love will

Something I

remember

most about

you.

When you were

about 4 years

old for

some odd

reason you

would want

me to

cuddle with you

and lie down

and read

books in

the corner

of  a room.

it would

never take

long and soon

you were

in your

angel sleep.

and often

was the

time we would

wake up

in a pile

of blankets

in the morning

that way.

with each

of our dreams

tucked away

in each other's

heads.

with you resting

your head

on my

arm and

your tangled

angel hair all

wrapped up

around my

face.

I never asked

you for reasons

why but

eventually

you grew out

of this phase,

but to this day

those nights

with you

lying next to

me with your

stuffed animals

were some

of the most

tenderest moments

of my life.

your little

angel sighs

when you

would turn

your body

one way

and then

the next.

and every

moment it

just meant

more and more

to me

to realize

that for the

rest of

my life

that God

had given

me you

to take

care of.

and now at

21 one years

old you

are one of

the most

beautiful things

that I

have ever

seen.

Your mother

and I

stood

on

the exit

the day

after you

The nurse

handed us

she wished

us all

you were

your mom

Let me
take a deep
breath
of you,

and then
jump in
your innocence
above
my eyes,

and quench
my thirst
in all
that you
are,

let me
dance
in celebration
with you,

under
this cantaloupe
moon
light,

and hold
your
heart
still,

and suckle
your *******
tender

and laugh
with
you in
naughty
giggles
throughout
the night

where our
lover's
embrace,

and sighs
are heard
over and
over again,

as I
make
love
to you
till our
bodies
ache of
love.

and the
morning
comes
to bless
our eyes,

and I
hold
my breath
again,

to jump
into
everything
that you
are or

become,

my best friend
my wife
my soul mate
the mother
of our
children,

my passion

Again this

morning I

saw her,

Patty.

She sits

at the bus stop

wishing for

the big

yellow bus to

come,

or is it

the next one,

or the one

after that.

Life has hit

her hard,

open wounds

easy to read.

She doesn't belong

to anyone else

anymore.

Her broken heart

out of rhythm

kicked to

the side

of the road

and forgotten.

so she

just sits

under the

early morning

light.

once she

was somebody's

newborn baby,

once I imagine

she could

have been

a beauty,

but that was

along time

ago.

Before the

savage teeth

of crystal ****

took it's

first deep bite,

and then

each night

came to

feed upon

her again,

and again

and again.

now she

just wanders

around the city,

panhandling

here panhandling

there 25 bucks

to lie down in

the back of

your car.

it's Monday

9 am I witness

her in her

same familiar spot.

I pray to myself

"my God, I hope

she makes

it to ten."
