It was quiet and still outside
A couple of birds flew through across the sky in the distance
All I could see was the shadow of them
The trees laid out a  rich green carpet underneath the trees below
The sky was a pale blue grey with pillows of white clouds scattered
They broke up the sky with their placement and streaks
The sky was highlighted by light which created a shadow
Looking a renaissance painting
As I looked at the clouds
Their color became brighter
Eventually turning to a light pink color
The view was stunning
It was like watching art being created
By the greatest artist of all
Mother Nature

Waiting for Paris
To see the glimmering city
See the Eiffel Tower
To walk the streets
Sit at the cafes
Visit the markets
Slowly sip coffee
Savor the food
Take in the history
Admire the beauty
Waiting for Paris ....

He was dreaming

At least for a day

I feel that I can breath

I am excited by the coolness

Tonight has magic brought with the fresh air

Getting a cup of coffee
With a wonderful taste
Ingesting the smell
Letting it tickle my senses
All types of people around

A croissant
People watching
Lots of baked goods all around
All looking delicious
A feel of Europe

Watching all the sites
Listening to different languages
Seeing people going hither and yon
Getting their goods
Starting their day

Pies in the oven

As the temperature drops winter is not far behind

He was mesmerizing
He was enchanting
Everything about him
His walk, his look, his laugh

He walked with a melody to his step
His laugh was infectious
He was tantalizing, stunning, amazing
He was mesmerizing, unforgettable

He could charm with a smile
He could entrance with a look
He could hold with his eyes alone

It was a perfect day on the island
It was miles away from the main city
To get there one had to ride the ferry for an hour across the blue waters
The sand on the beach was white and fine to the touch like fine silk
The water at times was turquoise

The beach was little lined with large umbrellas stuck in the sand
They were numerous colors and multi colored
People were sitting under them watching the waves
The waves pounded the shore breaking with bright white foam

The air was warm but not hot with a slight breeze soothing to the touch

Palm trees swayed to the breeze their leaves glistening in the sun
As the sun hit the ocean the surface looked like a million diamonds

Children were running up and down the beach laughing and playing games while parents kept a watchful eye

A man pushed an ice cream cart down the beach selling ice cream treats

A mother and her daughter played in the waves
The daughter eventually sitting in the water letting the waves run over her

It was a perfect day in every way

Every one was grateful for the perfect day and a little slice of heaven

The scent is calming

With a cool breeze that blows across your face ever so slightly
It feels good against your skin

The water is calm
Just a few ripples from fish
The lake is crystal clear
You can see to the bottom of it
There are small fish swimming about
You watch them for a while
Entranced by their movements

You put finally something on the end of your fishing pole to attract a fish
You are hoping for a trout

You then cast your line into the lake and wait

You pull out your book and stretch out your legs to relax
Your dog settles in for a nap
You love these moments
They are so peaceful and calm
You love the stillness of the place

When I feel lost I will rise up
I will reach towards the stars
To find my way back

I will follow it back to my path

Are we going back to normal?
That’s what folks say
But what does that really mean
Will it be the same as before?
Is it safe yet?
We’ve been here before

Will we take some of the last two years and keep it?
Did we learn that we are all one
We need each other to get through this
That things need to change
This is worldwide
Does it feel the same now sitting in a cafe?
Does the coffee taste the same?
Will it be comfortable to me
Or am I always watching
What does comfortable look like now
What will the world look like next year
Covid is returning
More variants
Will it ever leave?

She waited all day for the sun to drop
She needed the darkness
It would help free her
It would remove the bonds tying her

As the sun dropped for the day
She readied herself
She put on a long white dress
She went to the balcony
She climbed up on the table
As she moved to the edge
She spread out her arms
All of a sudden wings appeared
She took a leap and flew into the darkness
She is free

The little cat sat in the window
She was watching the snow falling outside
This was her first winter and Christmas

Inside was at all Christmas tree
It was decorated with bright lights and ornaments
The lights and sunlight made them glimmer
At times it looked like they were covered with diamonds

The little cat loved to look at them and sit under the tree
She had never experienced the magic before
Recently she had been adopted

As she sat at the window she had a deep feeling of contentment
The snow began to gently fall outside
As she watched the scene outside she heard faint music
She closed her eyes to listen
She was grateful for her new home and owners

As you look out, you see the ocean
It is a deep blue
The day is absolutely perfect
You are calm and still

You feel total bliss
