The summer heat finally broke
At least for a day
Tonight as the sun leaves
A gentle cooler breeze blows
It is refreshing and soothing
I feel that I can breath
My lungs are refreshed
My spirit energized

As the temperature drops
I am excited by the coolness
Hoping for a better night
As darkness falls the breezes blow
Healing the vestiges of summer and the heat

Tonight has magic brought with the fresh air
The stars glisten with golden glitter
The plants sway slightly
As the city readies itself for another night
