A WINDOW INTO SOMEWHERE ELSE

a lone chair
lived in a tiny room
with only a table for company

the room
happy with itself
slowly fell asleep

the walls had ears
they were good listeners
their lips were sealed

a window always
looking outside
longing to run away

the painting
a window
into somewhere else

the room
wondering what the room above
was thinking

the stairs
in love with both rooms
at once

the room
bored out of its mind
"Ah...at last...a human!"

the humans act
as if the room and its companions
were mere props in their play

the human
sat
"Oooof!" cried the chair

a cat
keeping the room company
now the humans had gone

guy scutellaro
the night is still
the snowflakes spiral down
in a slow waltz

she dreams of me dead

yes
I going to make
a few changes
in my life

i'm going to
run
run
run
and

i'm going to steal
a white horse
thunder in her hooves
and lanterns for eyes
and a heart of sand
and gallop
past the glue sniffers and junkies
through 9 to 5 prison
through the steel and concrete maze
past the grass needs cutting
the garden fence
and rotting cherry tomatoes
past the paying of overdue bills
the chicken deep fried

O, that wild horse!

we will make that run
like 2 shadows chased by light
and into the drift of stars
we'll fly

Oh, that beautiful horse!

no more sad songs

some people feel free
sitting in a tree with shotgun
killing a deer
a marriage
or themselves
some people think they are free
staring into the black sun

my love looks at me with ghost eyes
and dreams a shallow grave

on a mountain crest
my body chopped

and mixed with grain

no headstone

she dreams of me dead

"roll over, dear,"
i whisper,
"please, turn off the light."

One day, certain, this world I shall leave.
And left behind will be some who grieve.

And to the ones who shed their tears,
Who graced me with so many years,

I say to you, find peace with my rest,
Please carry on;  live life at its' best.

For I return to where I was received,
Renewed forever, because I believed.

And though we may be parted my friend,
And the world alone you have to attend,

Find hope in knowing that even though we're apart,
We will meet again and I still live in your heart.

There are so many paths in front of me,
Choices that I must make,
And I have no idea where any path leads,
Or which one I should take.

I only know that each one will take me,
To different places I've not been.
And that I won't be able to turn around,
To start from right here again.

And I'm not sure if it's better to choose,
Quickly.... or to contemplate,
For as soon as I go the wrong direction,
It will already be too late!

The path in the middle is well beaten,
Many must have tread before,
But taking the middle road all the time,
Sounds like nothing but a bore.

The path on the left is well hidden,
And it is not very clear.
It appears way too dangerous for me,
And I am so full of fear.

The road to the right looks exciting,
And it holds a special allure,
That is the way I really want to go,
But I'm still a little unsure!

Words are meaningless
Love is beautiful before it breaks you.
Tears change nothing.
Real is rare and unacceptable.
Hope dies swiftly
Sharing yourself leaves you empty
Exposing your soul is suicide.
And I am no one special.
