Dad and I had lots of differences,
From the day I became a teenager,
He expected me to lead a life according to his thinking,
Most days we had heated arguments,
I ended up spending the night with friends.
Amidst one of our fights I saw tears swell in mum's gentle eyes,
She was sandwiched between father and son,
She loved us both equally.
To maintain peace I steered away from dad as much as possible,
Kept quiet when he had a point to make and listened,
But did not heed to all his ways.
At last we had peace,
Mum was happy,
I was glad my sacrifice had given mum space to breathe.

I give them light, heat and energy,
So they are not cold,
They have food on their table,
And oxygen to breathe.
I cause seasons for them to enjoy.
But our children are as stubborn as a mule,
Egoistic and inconsiderate,
With no compassion for their parents,
They have created Satans,
Money and weapons of mass destruction,
Trying to outdo one another,
And destroy what we have lovingly given them,
By playing this super game called
