I am the Minister of Home Affairs
A very demanding portfolio,
In simple terms a housewife
I enjoy being one,
Cooking cleaning  gardening and being with my overactive three boys.
The only thing I hate is  my husband's one sentence,'What were you doing all day?'
If I overlook to do something,
That sentence irked me that night
So next morning  I became sick unable to get up from the bed,
He had to make breakfast and the children's lunch for school.
It was only morning and the poor man looked hassled,
Wait darling till night comes,
And you will bury that sentence deep in your guts for good
As soon as he left I had breakfast and lounged on the sofa with a book,
The breakfast dishes were still in the basin,
The table was a mess with spilled milk and crumbs,
I turned a blind eye to it,
He came with the children early,
I groaned and moaned complaining  of a splitting headache,
And sweetly asked if he could make tea for me,
He did.
Then he wore my apron and started to do the household  chores,
He washed the dishes, made rhe beds, d8d the laundry and even ironed the boys school uniform,
The boys were demanding, throwing things around the house
Made them put away their toys and clean their room,
For dinner I thought he would cook but no,
He ordered takeaway.
The little one refused to eat as it was too chilly,
My man had to make noodles for him,
Man this is good,
Poor guy had no time to sit in front of the T.V and watch news or football,
He had to put the boys to bed and read them a story,
Now and then he looked at me with appealing eyes,
I did not budge.
Next morning he stood  by my bedside with a hot cup of tea and a bouquet of flowers.
"Feeling better, dear,"
Only a little,
Hope you realise  the true meaning of your sentences What are you doing all day'
In fact you did not go shopping and the children missed their music and karate classes,
Please don't take housewives for granted

Not
to seek is a bliss,
Desire is erased.
coyly in a soft voice,
Almost a whisper,
He leaned close to her to listen.
She smiled broadly excited,
He likes me!
Little did she know that he had hearing problem.

Or datun as referred to in India,
As a child we never had a toothbrush
or toothpaste at home,
The upper class used them.
Abba used to buy a bundle of gum tree or neem tree toothbrush sticks from the market,
We used to dip the stick in charcoal powder that came in bottles called manjan  and brush our teeth,
The taste of twig and coal powder was refreshing
Abba would tell us to chew ******* the twig,
We had less of tooth decay and gum diseases,
Teeth whiter and strong enamel
Herbal is best,
Antifungal and anti bacterial.
I miss my miswak.

She is a unique piece,
My sunshine,
And like the sunflower,
In any situations I turn towards her,
All my troubles fall behind me,
She is my silent silhouette,
Who never judges.

Is like dancing in the rain
Letting go of a string of feelings,
Swinging on a rainbow of thoughts,
A soft whisper,
A cry of joy,
A beat of the heart.
And just as first rain drops kiss the earth,
The petrichor of words,
Hits the senses,
To pen beautiful poetry.

He got a new young wife,
And with her two new children,
Buy one get two free.
Mum is mentally strong,
She didn't break down,
She opened a catering business from home.
We don't miss dad,
Mum has so much love and her time to give,
Like the gentle rays of sunshine,
That engulfs us in its warmth
Giving us new hope and encouragement each day
And that's enough for us.
