Had become full of conclusions
Of thoughts and ideas of my political and religious friends.
It had become a dead end
But with philosophies of compassion and kindness
I made my mind and heart into temples,
Where positivity brought about a great change.

Changed after marriage,
My daughter-in-law made me the happiest person on earth.
My son learned to brush his teeth every night before bed,
Take a bath often,
Change his briefs everyday,
Sort and take out the garbage bins,
Mow the lawn,
Also learned to help his wife around the house,
Made morning tea.
Simple magic,
HE WAS IN LOVE,
And love is blind.

Fifty years before,
People and doctors too had more patience.
When I was pregnant with my first child,
Everytime I went to the clinic,
Everything was fine,
The child was doing well.
But I was long overdue,
But patience has its rewards.
I would have fake pains,
And now and again I would urge mum to take me to the hospital immediately.
Being a mother of five,
She would ask if the pains were at an interval of two minutes,
No!
Then one time being exasperated and orthodox,
She said, "Everything unfolds at its own pace,
When Allah wishes your womb will open and you will give birth.
You may nurture the plant endlessly,
But the fruit is only borne in its season.
She was right,
Although I had a painful labour,
I gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

Gives one an identity and status,
It identifies you from other people
Unlike the English like grandparent, uncles and aunt,
Asians have particular names for each kin.
Such as in the Gujratis,
Father's parents are Dada and dadi,
Mother's parents are nana and nani.
Father's brother is kaka(chacha) and kaki(chachi
Mother's brother is mama and mami
Father's sister is faiji and husband fuaji
Mother's sister is masi and masaji.
Even the niece and nephew are identified differently.
It is also said that a Mother's sister is almost your mother.
I don't like when my kins call me aunty.
I may be uncle or aunty for others but I want to maintain my particular status with you,
So others can know how closely related I am to you.
